🔼  Can’t Touch This. Auburn’s offense exploded for six goals in the second half Thursday night at The Cage Soccer Complex to see the No. 13 Tigers cruise past South Alabama 6-0, marking the program’s biggest win on the road since 1993.

“Wow, what a second half,” Tigers head coach Karen Hoppa said. “The scoreline shows that our team made some really good adjustments coming out of the locker room. Then, they put on a finishing clinic, and it was fun to watch.”

The 6-0 victory marked Auburn’s largest margin of victory in a road match since hanging six at LaGrange College in 1993, the first year of the program.

Up next, Auburn returns home to host App State on Sunday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. CT.

🔼 Crouch ‘n’ Crew Cometh. The 2024 volleyball season has officially arrived as Auburn hosts North Alabama, Georgia Southern and Wofford in the War Eagle Invitational (Aug. 30-31) inside Neville Arena. 

The action begins bright and early TODAY when the Tigers go toe-to-toe with UNA at 10 a.m. CT. Doors open one hour before first serve, and admission is free. 

Head coach Brent Crouch has won each of his last three season-openers. Auburn hasn't dropped a nonconference opener since falling to Tennessee State in 2019. 

Fans who cannot make it to the Plains this weekend can watch Friday’s matches live on SEC Network Plus.

🔼 Meanwhile, Across the Pond. Auburn sophomore Anna Davis and alumnus Megan Schofill will represent the United States in the 2024 Curtis Cup beginning today at Sunningdale Golf Club in Berkshire, England. The USGA announced that the Tigers would be two of the eight players on the U.S. team on Aug. 12.

The Curtis Cup is an amateur women’s team event played bi-annually between an American team and a team representing Great Britain and Ireland. The Red, White and Blue leads the all-time series 31-8-3. The last Auburn golfer to be selected to a Curtis Cup team was Cydney Clanton in 2010. That year, Clanton secured two wins in a winning effort for the American team.

🔼 A Race to the Finish. Auburn cross country opens the 2024 season at the Foothills Invitational in Oxford, Alabama, today. The meet will kick off with the men in the 5k at 5:30 pm CT, followed by the women’s 5k at 6:15 pm CT.  

Led by fourth-year distance coach Aaron Kindt, the men are heading into the season ranked fifth in the South Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in the preseason polls. The women are ranked ninth in the region.
