Cam Coleman, the "Freeze Four" and A-Day
Good morning. Early enrollees Cam Coleman and Bryce Cain have high praise for one another, with Cain saying of Coleman, "The way you see him play in high school is crazy, and him coming to college in the SEC and doing the same thing, it surprises and amazes me.” Coleman whistled in admiration of Cain’s speed, saying, “That joker can run. He’s probably the fastest person we have right now.”
Saturday's A-Day game will be Auburn fans' first chance to see half of a highly recruited receiving corps known as the “Freeze Four," with fellow freshmen Perry Thompson and Malcolm Simmons joining this summer.

🔼 Let it Rein. In her first season at the helm of the Auburn equestrian team, head coach Jessica Braswell led the Tigers to the program's sixth straight Southeastern Conference title as the team topped No. 1 seed and host Texas A&M, 13-6 at the Hildebrand Equine Complex in College Station Texas.
The Tigers look to close out the season with another championship as the team will head to Ocala, Florida, for the 2024 NCEA Championship. The three-day meet will be held April 18-20 at the World Equestrian Center, and Auburn will once again be the host team.
🔼 Tigers Tank Tennessee’s Streak. Coming up clutch with a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning, Auburn Softball snapped the nation's longest active win streak at 20 games as the Tigers took down No. 4 Tennessee 4-1 at Jane B. Moore Field on Sunday.
The win was Auburn's first over a top-five team since taking down No. 5 Tennessee in Knoxville 3-0 on April 7, 2019. The win also snapped Tennessee's eight-game win streak in the series. It was also head coach Mickey Dean’s 700th career Division I victory.
"It was one of 700, but this is a special group right here," Dean said. "They fight, and a lot of people want them to quit and give up, but they aren't going to. We're going to keep fighting. We're going to keep winning."
🔼 Now That’s Dogged Determination. No. 16 Women's tennis upset the fourth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs by a 4-3 score in the final regular-season home match on Sunday. With the match tied at three and only one match remaining, fifth-year senior Carolyn Ansari defeated No. 24 Dasha Vidmanova in a dramatic three-set match on court one to give Auburn the win.
The team win marks the 10th victory over Georgia in program history. Sunday also was the first time the Tigers defeated a top-4 team since defeating the then-No. 4 Bulldogs in 2017.
🔼 Lapping Up the Victories. Auburn needed a strong final day to remain in the top 15 at the 2024 Men's NCAA Championships, and the Tigers delivered with two scoring performances. Head coach Ryan Wochomurka has now engineered top-12 finishes in back-to-back seasons, as the Orange and Blue finished Saturday with 100 points in 12th place.
In total, Auburn earned 21 All-America Honors from 10 different athletes, six individual top-10 swims and two school records.
🔼 A Lot to Unpack. Earlier this season against USC Upstate, Makayla Packer stepped to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning with the bases loaded and the game tied. On a 1-2 pitch, she swung and belted a ball over the left field wall for a walk-off grand slam. The fifth-year senior rounded the bases and did a little dance as she took her last steps toward home plate, where she was mobbed by her teammates. It remains her favorite memory at Auburn to date.
Fans have gotten to know Packer over the years for her speed on the base paths, her defensive prowess in the outfield, and some of her late-game heroics. What they might not realize is the adversity she has had to overcome in battling various injuries over the years, but her coaches never gave up on her.
🔼 Murphey’s Law. No. 10 Women's Golf won the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic for the second consecutive season on Saturday in Athens, Georgia. The Tigers converted their 36-hole lead by firing a 292 in the final round to win the event by 11 shots over Florida.
As a team, Auburn finished the event with the best par-4 scoring average, second-best par-3 scoring average and the second-most birdies with 42. Individually, freshman Anna Davis had her best finish of the season, tied for second place at 3-under (213).
🔼 Blip at Blue Bell Park. Trailing by three runs going into the eighth, No. 21 Auburn forced the game to 12 innings but ultimately fell to No. 4 Texas A&M 10-9 Saturday night in the series finale.
Auburn (16-11, 1-8 SEC) collected a season-high 17 hits from 12 different players in the contest, including multiple hits from five Tigers.
Auburn continues its midweek schedule with a game against UAB at Regions Field Tuesday at 6 p.m.
