🔼 Talk That Talk. This past Saturday was a special day on The Plains—Auburn won its season opener in front of a record crowd, Hugh Freeze earned his first victory as head coach, and everybody celebrated by rolling Toomer's Corner.

But by Sunday, the celebration had ended. The Tigers had moved on to Week 2 and a road trip to Cal.

“We're 1-0, but it's in the trash and over with. That's kind of the way you approach this profession. Our fans are incredible, our student section is incredible, our band, cheerleaders, everybody. Tiger Walk was awesome. Being with family was great. But that one is over. We're 1-0 and now we have a tough test on the road.”

🔼 Fresh Start. Auburn women's basketball fans are invited to join Coach Johnnie Harris and the Tigers for the team's annual Tip-Off Party. The event will begin on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. CT and will take place in the Anderson-Thorne Tigers Den inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Harris and other members of the Auburn coaching staff, along with a chance to meet the student-athletes. The event will also feature a silent auction, giveaways and more.

The best part? Fans who register before next Tuesday, Sept. 12 will receive the early bird rate of $35 per person—after that, the price increases to $45 per person.

🤔 TIGER TRIVIA

Fresh start. Freshman Mary Mac Collins of the Auburn cross country team was selected as the SEC Women's Co-Freshman of the Week after finishing first at the Foothills Invitational with a time of 14:10.10 in the women's 4k.

The Auburn women scored 15 points to finish first and it’s the first weekly honor for an Auburn freshman since…

🐅 ONE BIG THING

Line of duty. Displaying his versatility by playing three positions in Auburn's season-opening win over Massachusetts, Gunner Britton has been named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.

A 6-6, 312-pound transfer from Western Kentucky, the senior logged snaps at left guard, right tackle, and left tackle against the Minutemen—and Britton (along with the rest of the offensive line) helped the Tigers rush for six touchdowns and 289 yards on 44 attempts, an average of 6.6 yards per carry in Auburn's 59-14 win.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 2021

Cooper Atkins was named the SEC Men's Freshman Runner of the Week by the conference back in 2021 after an outstanding collegiate debut—coincidentally also at the Foothills Invitational.

The Scottsboro, Ala. native finished the 5k in 15:35.32 to nab fourth place out and give Auburn a sweep of placements one through four, helping the team to their first win since 2017.

🐅 Have a great Wednesday, y’all.
