Good morning. Junior left-hander Carson Myers has been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week.
 
Making his first career start in an Auburn uniform, Myers turned in 6.0 scoreless innings and struck out a career-high eight batters as the Tigers finished off the sweep of Eastern Kentucky Sunday afternoon at Plainsman Park.
 
Myers and the No. 15 Tigers (3-0) take on UAB (2-1) this evening at 6 p.m. at Plainsman Park (more on that below) before heading to Jacksonville, Florida, for the Jax College Baseball Classic this weekend.

🔼 Home Sweet Home Run. Coming off its three-game sweep of Eastern Kentucky, No. 14 Auburn (3-0) faces a quick turnaround before its first midweek contest vs. UAB (2-1) tonight at 6 p.m. CT at Plainsman Park. The Opening Weekend sweep was Auburn's first since 2021 and its fourth in nine seasons under head coach Butch Thompson.

Graduate shortstop Cooper Weiss stole a program-record four bases in the series finale. Chris Stanfield and Ike Irish have each already accounted for the cycle in their first five and four hits of the season, respectively.
 
"We have four big games this week, starting with UAB," Thompson said. "We'll recap a little bit from the weekend – the positives, the good. You have to celebrate those, that's really important, and then pick out the strategies and techniques you think you can improve upon."

The team's current average bumped up to 197.082 after scoring a season-high road score of 197.100 last Friday in Baton Rouge against LSU.
 
Auburn's beam squad is ranked sixth nationally with a 49.279 average after scoring a 49.450 on Friday. The floor crew is 13th with a 49.393. The vault team is 13th with a 49.239 and bars 18th with a 49.171 average.

Auburn stays home this week, hosting No.13 Missouri in Neville Arena. The teams will face off at 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network.

🔼 Paving the Way On the Plains. It has been 60 years since Harold Franklin broke the color barrier at Auburn University. The Alabama State graduate came to Auburn in 1964. He left a year later. Franklin was a career educator working at Talladega College, Alabama State, North Carolina A&T and Tuskegee Institute. In 2001, Franklin received an honorary Doctor of Arts from Auburn. Harold Franklin Sr. passed away in 2021 at age 88.

Last month, invited guests—including Franklin's son, Harold Franklin Jr.—gathered on the Auburn campus to commemorate the 60^th anniversary of the day Harold Sr. walked the steps of the library for the first time.
