Bodda Getta Daily Brew 5/20: Softball 'Til the Sun Came Up
The Auburn Softball team advanced to regional finals after two victories that went until 3 a.m. Saturday
Good Morning, Auburn Family. In a marathon evening that ended at 3 a.m. and featured a pair of must-win victories for Auburn softball, the Tigers (29-20-1) survived elimination Saturday to make it into the Tallassee Regional final.
Auburn opened Saturday with a run-rule victory over Chattanooga, taking down the Mocs 9-0 to advance into a second elimination game. In a contest that took over four hours and 12 innings to decide, the Tigers used late heroics to take a 2-1 victory in a rematch with UCF to advance to the regional final.
Sadly, a tied game heading into the sixth inning on Sunday ended up in a late push by Florida State as the Seminoles took a 10-4 victory, ending the 2024 season for the Tigers.
