🔼 Pair Of Queens. Auburn women’s basketball is making moves, y’all—Savannah Carter and Alex Stewart have been promoted to the role of women's basketball assistant coach. In January, the NCAA Division I Council changed its rules for coaching limits, adding two additional assistant coaches in men's and women's basketball.

⬆️ Savannah Carter begins her third season on Coach Johnnie Harris' staff, serving as director of player development the last two years. She came to Auburn after a year as assistant coach at Pearl River Community College in Mississippi, along with several other coaching stops.

⬆️ Alex Stewart served as Auburn's director of basketball operations the past two seasons. Prior to joining Coach Johnnie Harris' staff, she was an assistant coach at Colgate in 2020-21 and part of Georgia Southern's staff from 2015-19. She also had assistant coaching stops at Toledo, Jacksonville, and North Greenville, and she served as head coach at Agnes Scott in 2007-08.

🔼 Walk The Walk. Speaking of Auburn basketball, the men’s team will hold walk-on tryouts on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 6:30 a.m. in the team's practice gym located inside of Neville Arena. Only full-time Auburn University students are allowed to try out.

Those interested in participating must pick up a medical packet from the front desk of the men's basketball office, located on the second floor of Neville Arena through the scholarship entrance doors, beginning Wednesday, Aug. 30.

🤔 TIGER TRIVIA

The 7000 Club. The number of the day is three! Why? Because there are only three more days until kickoff… so let’s get to today’s trivia question.

There are only three quarterbacks to throw for more than 7,000 yards in their career as a Tiger. Bo Nix did it most recently with 8,120 yards to his name.

Our question today—can you name the other two?

🐅 ONE BIG THING

Finally. In just three days, Auburn football will kick off the 2023 season at home against UMass—and head coach Hugh Freeze, who will be making his Auburn debut Saturday, previewed the matchup with UMass in his weekly press conference Monday.

“I'm really excited game week is here. Obviously, a lot of work goes into getting to this point, but we finally know that this Saturday will be real this time. We have to find out what the reveal party shows. This is exciting, and our kids are ready.”
