🔼  No Tears Here. The Auburn softball team completed the upset at No. 6 LSU, taking two games from the Tigers. They started the weekend hot with a 3-2 win! Auburn was down by a run going into the sixth, but battled to score in the sixth and seventh innings. Maddie Penta secured her 13th win of the season after throwing two innings of relief. Auburn went on to defeat LSU again on Sunday, 3-1, to secure the series. Shelby Lowe shut down the LSU offense, striking out five batters and allowing just one run. They’ll be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to UAB.

🔼 It’s A Match. The tenth-ranked women’s golf team finished up stroke play at the SEC Championship in second place! Anna Davis finished fourth individually and Casey Weidenfeld finished in 10th place. They’ll move on to match play where they’ll face 7-seeded Georgia today starting at 7:50 a.m.

🔼 Upset Season. The weekend of upsets continued with the men’s tennis team defeating No. 11 Texas A&M, 5-2 on Friday. Finn Murgett took the match clinching point after forcing a tie breaker, where he won four straight points. Tyler Stice took down No. 22 Raphael Perot to finish off the day. They finished up the regular season yesterday when they defeated No. 39 LSU, 5-1, on Senior Day.

🔼 Fell Short. The Tigers dropped Friday and Saturday’s baseball games to No. 8 Kentucky, despite putting up a good number of runs on Saturday. They took a seven-run lead early in Saturday’s loss, but Kentucky rallied for 13 straight. Cade Belyeu connected for his third homer of the season to start the game. Tanner Bauman retired the first nine batters he saw, until the fourth inning. The Tigers will be back in action tomorrow when they host Georgia Tech at 6 p.m.

Today’s trivia question…

Which team did JP Pegues hit a 3-pointer to upset in the 2023 NCAA Tournament?

🐅 ONE BIG THING

JP Pegues is an All-Southern Conference First Time point guard from Nashville, Tennessee. He spent the last three seasons at Furman, averaging 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists. JP was named the 2023 Most Outstanding Player of the Southern Conference Championship.
