Good Morning, Auburn Family. The NFL season kicked off this past weekend with 23 former Auburn players on active rosters. Three of those players had a sack in Week 1, while second-year running back Tank Bigsby enjoyed a career day.

BEST OF WEEK 1

Tank Bigsby, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
In the first game of his second NFL season, Bigsby rushed for a career-high 73 yards on just 12 carries, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. The former third-round pick ripped off gains of 26 and 17 yards, and 51 of his 71 yards came after contact Sunday, per PFF. Bigsby had the fifth-best rushing grade in the NFL in Week 1, and his overall PFF grade (81.9) was second-highest on the team.

Auburn Access: Soccer celebrates Karen Hoppa's 350th win
Celebrate with the soccer team as they honor head coach Karen Hoppa following its 5-0 win over Samford. The win marked the 350th career win for Hoppa, who became the 9th woman to do so.

🔼 Just Some Sisterly Digs. The family of Auburn volleyball’s Paige Thibault will be easy to spot on Friday when the Tigers play at Minnesota.

They’ll be wearing custom jerseys – half Auburn’s orange and blue and half Minnesota’s maroon and gold – displaying Paige’s No. 13 and her sister Kate’s No. 6.

A senior libero, Paige is in her second season on the Plains, while Kate is a sophomore defensive specialist for the Golden Gophers.

“What are the odds of that?” Paige remembers thinking when the 2024 schedule was announced. “It’s been this big talking point between my family and friends.”

🔼 Up to the Task. First-year co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux and Auburn softball face a challenging SEC slate, featuring a pair of series with 2024 Women’s College World Series participants, as the league office released the 2025 SEC softball schedule on Wednesday. 

The conference slate includes eight three-game series for each team for a total of 24 conference games.

Auburn begins league play on the road with a three-game series against Mississippi State on March 7-9. The Tigers also visit one of the newest members of the SEC, with a road test at Texas on March 21-23.

The Tigers SEC home opener is slated for March 14-16 when Auburn hosts Texas A&M.

Answer: After a three-goal week for the sophomore from Richmond, Virginia, Auburn soccer’s Olivia Woodson was named the Southeastern Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.

It is the fourth SEC weekly honor for a Tiger this season and the first for Woodson’s career.
