Bodda Getta Daily Brew 5/27: Memorial Day Brew

Today, we honor those who have died in service of our country.

Good Morning, Auburn Family. While Memorial Day has long signified the beginning of Summer—complete with pool parties and the scent of barbecues permeating the air—we’d like to take the time to honor those who have died while serving our country.

This morning, we hope you enjoy this mini-sized Botta Getta Morning Brew—a single shot, if you will. We’ll be back with your Venti-sized edition tomorrow.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Right On Course. A third consecutive round of 5-over 293 on Sunday was enough to keep No. 1 Auburn men's golf above the first cutline and advance to the fourth round of stroke play at the 2024 NCAA Championship hosted at the Omni La Costa Champions Course.

After 54 holes of play, Auburn stands tied for sixth place at 15-over. The Tigers are 17 shots back of the lead and 12 shots ahead of the first cut, which came at 27-over.

For today's fourth round, Auburn plays with Florida and Arizona and will tee off from the 10th hole at 1:51 p.m. CT. To survive the next cut and advance to match play, the Tigers need a top-eight finish.

🔼 Eugene or Bust. Auburn freshman Marley Raikiwasa broke a school record in the discus and qualified for NCAA Outdoors while teammate Vimbayi Maisvorewa also punched her ticket during the final day of competition at the NCAA East Preliminaries Saturday. The successful four-day meet saw Auburn qualify six individuals and one relay on the men's side and five individuals on the women's side.

🔼 Eugene or Bust, Part Two. The Auburn men's Track & Field team broke two school records, equaled another and had four individuals and one relay qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships during the third day of the NCAA East Preliminaries Friday. Favour Ashe, Makanakaishe Charamba and Kanyinsola Ajayi all wrote their names in the school record books while each punching tickets to the outdoor championships at Eugene, Oregon in two weeks. 🔼 Par for the Talented Course. Auburn freshman Anna Davis and senior Megan Schofill have been awarded All-American honors. Davis was tabbed second-team All-American, while Schofill was given an honorable mention. This marks Davis' first All-American honor and Schofill's third from the WGCA. Schofill was selected as an honorable mention in 2022 and as a first-team All-American in 2023.

🔼 Lords of the PING. Auburn men's golfers J.M. Butler, Jackson Koivun and Brendan Valdes were all named to the All-Southeast Region Team. It is the first all-region appearance for Koivun, second for Valdes and third for Butler. Koivun is Auburn's first freshman named to the all-region team since Brandon Mancheno in 2018.

🔼 Congrats, Coach Clinard. Auburn men's golf head coach Nick Clinard has been named one of five finalists for the Dave Williams Division I National Coach of the Year Award. This season, under Clinard's tutelage, the top-ranked Tigers have kicked down the door of nearly every school record in the book with nine tournament wins, including six in a row, and an SEC Championship.
