🔼 We Belong. After advancing to the second round of the WNIT last season, Auburn women’s basketball lost in a heartbreaking matchup with Clemson.

Of getting that far, “Coach J” said on the recent Talking Tigers Podcast that it showed the players “we’re where we belong.”

Entering her third year as the Tigers’ head coach, Coach Johnnie Harris has bolstered her team and bench to be sure she has the depth to battle injuries, which is what she didn’t have last year.

She brings in eight newcomers—three from the transfer portal, a pair of guards from the JUCO ranks, and three “bigs” from high school. Coach J says they even have 6-0, 6-1, and 6-2 guards. They join a nucleus of returners with a great deal of promise for the 2023-24 season.

Getting these bigs, the JUCOs, and the transfers are what Coach Harris has said will make them competitive in the SEC.

🤔 TIGER TRIVIA

Friends in low places. The 2006 football game between Auburn and LSU was the lowest-scoring matchup between the two schools since 1935.

Our question today—can you remember the score?

🐅 ONE BIG THING

Hitting the big time. It’s no surprise with standout stars like Maddie Scheer, many come-from-behind wins, and a string of impressive upsets this season that Coach Brent Crouch has moved up to No. 22 in the AVCA coaches rankings.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 7-3

Hey, you don’t always need a lot on the scoreboard for an exciting game! Auburn’s defense held LSU to just 56 rushing yards and shut down future No. 1 overall draft pick JaMarcus Russell to zero touchdowns on the day.

And if you were wondering about the score to that 1935 game, it was a 6-0 win by LSU.

🐅 Have a great Tuesday, y’all
