Catcher Ike Irish has been named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List
Good morning. Sophomore catcher Ike Irish has been named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List. Irish is one of 45 amateur players, including one of five catchers, to be named to the list.
He leads the team in runs (35), hits (41), doubles (nine), total bases (82) and RBI (45) while ranking second in average (.363) and home runs (10). Irish ranks second in the SEC and fourth in the country in RBI, while his totals in runs, hits, doubles and total bases are good for top 10 in the league.
Irish also became the fourth fastest player in program history to record his 100th career hit earlier this season.

๐ผ They Volunteer as Tributes. Auburn (17-11, 1-8 SEC) starts its eight-game homestand over the next two weeks with a three-game series against No. 4 Tennessee (24-5, 5-4 SEC) this weekend at Plainsman Park.
First pitches are scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. CT, Saturday at 3:30 p.m. following Auburn football's A-Day game and Sunday at 1 p.m.
๐ผ Defending the Plains. Auburn softball's nine-game homestand continues this weekend as the Tigers (17-11-1) host Louisiana Tech (23-9) and Georgia Tech (24-14) for the War Eagle Classic.
The tournament begins with a doubleheader slate today. Auburn faces Louisiana Tech at 2 p.m. CT before taking on the Yellow Jackets at 5 p.m. CT. Saturday also features a twin billing on the SEC Network+. Auburn will face Louisiana Tech at 1 p.m. CT before taking on Georgia Tech at 4 p.m. CT.
๐ผ Creating a Racket at Home. Auburn Menโs Tennis will be back at the Yarbrough Tennis Center for three home matches over the weekend. The Tigers will face rival No. 23 Alabama today at 3 p.m. CT, then No. 14 Mississippi State and Alabama A&M at noon CT and 4 p.m. CT on Sunday.
Auburn will look to bounce back at home after dropping its last three matches on the road to Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Arkansas. Still, the Tigers' SEC record of 4-4 is the fifth-best in the conference. Sophomore Billy Blaydes has continued to be consistent for the Tigers, as he has won each of his last nine singles matches and has a team-best 16-3 singles dual match record.
๐ผ To Tide Them Over. No. 16 Women's tennis will play 24th-ranked Alabama in Tuscaloosa at 5 p.m. today. The Crimson Tide is the first of Auburn's three road matches to finish the regular season.
Auburn will enter Friday's match with momentum after defeating No. 4 Georgia in dramatic fashion 4-3. With the match tied at three and only one match remaining, fifth-year senior Carolyn Ansari defeated No. 24 Dasha Vidmanova in a dramatic three-set match on court one to give Auburn the win in the final home regular season match of the season.
๐ผ A Fork in the Track. The Auburn track & field team will split its squad between the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the Hurricane Alumni Invitational in Coral Gables, Florida, this weekend, April 5-6. The Tigers enter the meets with the men's team ranked fifth in the most recent USTFCCCA poll.
Action from the Sam Bailey Track & Field Stadium in Tuscaloosa begins this morning at 10:00 a.m. CT with the women's hammer throw, while action from the Cobb Track & Field Facility in Coral Gables begins Friday with the men's hammer throw at 9:00 a.m. CT.

Casey Makes the Cut. Auburn sophomore Casey Weidenfeld will be one of the 35 players participating in the final round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur after making the 36-hole cut on Thursday. Weidenfeld shot even-par (72) in both rounds at Champions Retreat Golf Club and is in a tie for 13th place on the leaderboard.
