The thousands wearing orange and blue Saturday in 100-year-old California Memorial Stadium were delighted to be called Fairweather fans—that’s because Rivaldo Fairweather scored the go-ahead touchdown and D.J. James ended Cal's last chance with an interception to lead Auburn to a 14-10 win.

After generating only four first downs and 99 yards in the first half while going 1-for-6 on third down, the Tigers offense found its rhythm in the fourth quarter—marching 69 yards on 10 plays to take a 14-10 lead on Payton Thorne's 5-yard touchdown pass with 6:31 to play.

📅 Up next? Auburn returns to Jordan-Hare Stadium next Saturday for Homecoming vs. Samford at 6 p.m. CT.

🔼 Best Two Out Of Three. After a hard-fought, highly contested loss against Middle Tennessee (three of the four sets were separated by three points or fewer!) Auburn volleyball bounced back in a big way with a 3-1 win over Charleston Southern and 3-0 shutout against Mercer.

🔥 The highlight of the weekend was the Tigers finishing their second matchup against Charleston Southern with 63 digs—the most by this Auburn team since collecting 77 in the NCAA tournament against Houston on Dec. 3, 2022.

🔼 Looking Forward. Auburn soccer dropped the final contest of its nonconference slate, losing 2-0 to Ohio State yesterday in a match where the Tigers held the Buckeyes scoreless for the final 67 minutes of the match but could not penetrate the goal line and get on the board—Ohio State scored first in the 16th minute and once more in the 23rd, and the Tigers held them silent for the rest of the match.

Auburn ripped off eight shots and placed five on frame. Seniors Sydney Richards and Maddie Simpson, junior Carly Thatcher, and freshman Olivia Woodson accounted for the Tigers' on-goal opportunities.

📅 Up next? A new season begins as the Tigers head to Mississippi State this Friday, Sept. 15 for their SEC opener. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on SECN+.

Record scratch. No. 6 Auburn men's golf began its season in record-setting fashion, firing a 24-under 260 Friday in round one of the Mirabel Maui Jim Intercollegiate at The Mirabel Club. Senior Ryan Eshleman delivered the best performance of the day with an 8-under 63.

Auburn's performance tops the previous school record for 18-hole team score, 22-under, set a year ago in round one of the same event.
