🔼 Tap, Tap…Is This Thing On? The youngest player to represent Auburn in four decades of SEC Media Days, Keldric Faulk did not hesitate when asked to describe his team’s defensive identity.
“Relentless effort, violent tackling and elite mental execution,” he said.
Faulk earned his historic Media Days invitation by impressing Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze.
“Keldric has had an incredible voice that people listen to because he’s wise for his age,” Freeze said. “His work ethic is incredible.”
Dressed to impress in a three-piece blue suit, white dress shirt, orange tie and matching pocket square—an ensemble selected by his mother—Faulk joined senior teammates Payton Thorne and Eugene Asante, interacting with hundreds of reporters.

🔼 A Wake-Up Call. Christina Wakefield, a former standout student-athlete at Boston University and current assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin University has joined the Auburn soccer staff as an assistant coach, head coach Karen Hoppa has announced.
“In my opinion, she is one of the best up-and-coming young coaches in the country,” Hoppa said.
Before working at SFA, Wakefield was a graduate assistant coach at Auburn during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
🔼 A Big Production. Auburn Athletics' War Eagle Productions and War Eagle Creative units took home multiple national awards this summer.
War Eagle Productions took home the Sports Video Group Award for Outstanding Live Non-Game Production for its show open for the Auburn men's basketball game against Ole Miss, receiving the award in June at the 16th annual College Sports Media Awards in Atlanta.
Working alongside War Eagle Productions, War Eagle Creative brought home the esteemed Golden Matrix Award for Best Overall University Production at the annual Information Display and Entertainment Association Conference in Saint Louis, Missouri, last week. The group edged out Texas and Oklahoma to win the award for the eighth straight year.
🔼 From the Court to the Classroom. Eight student-athletes from the Auburn men’s and women’s tennis programs have received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, the Intercollegiate Collegiate Association announced. Additionally, both programs were tabbed as ITA All-Academic Teams.
Finn Murgett, Jake Kennedy, Nicholas Heng and Will Nolan from the men’s tennis squad each received the honor. Ali DeSpain, Ariana Arseneault, Ava Esposito Cogan and Selin Ovunc represented the Tigers’ women’s team on the scholar-athlete list.
The women’s program has made ITA All-Academic Teams for nine consecutive years, while the men’s team has earned the honor in each of the last five years.
