Bodda Getta Daily Brew 11/15: Freeze's Big Chill
Today, Freeze says it's no time to underestimate New Mexico State.
Good morning. Fans might see New Mexico State on the schedule and gloss over it, looking ahead to the following week and a certain, ahem, rivalry game. Hugh Freeze knows better.
Yes, Auburn is coming off a dominant SEC road win at Arkansas and is playing arguably its best football of the season right now. Yes, the Tigers became bowl-eligible with the win. They still need to prepare for New Mexico State like they would any other game.
"We'll be faced with some of the normal challenges of wanting to rest on last week,” said Freeze in a recent presser. “All those things that come as temptations. We'll have to fight against that.”

Scott, a 6-4 freshman from Conway, Arkansas, put together a memorable first week as a college basketball player. Through the season's opening week, she leads the SEC in field goal percentage at .769 (20-of-26), is 10th in the SEC in scoring (16.7 ppg) and 11th in rebounding (8.3/game). 🔼 A New Gem for Pearl. Auburn has put together quite the 2024 recruiting class as head coach Bruce Pearl and his staff signed Jahki (pronounced JUH-kai) Howard on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-6, 185-pound forward currently attends Overtime Elite in Atlanta and played AAU basketball for New Heights Lightning on the EYBL circuit alongside fellow signee Tahaad Pettiford.
One of the most athletic players in his class, Howard is a four-star recruit rated No. 85 overall and No. 20 at his position by 247 Sports. Known as the best dunker in high school basketball, going viral on social media, he is currently averaging 15.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.5 blocks per game in the preseason for Overtime Elite.
"Jahki is one of the most underrated prospects in the 2024 class," Pearl said. "We've been watching and recruiting him since his freshman year."

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: Jabari Smith
Smith was one of 10 men's basketball student-athletes who were the top vote-getters in the quest to earn college basketball's most prestigious honor this year. He was joined on the Wendy's All-American Team by Ochai Agbaji of Kansas, Kofi Cockburn of Illinois, Johnny Davis of Wisconsin, Chet Holmgren of Gonzaga, Jaden Ivey of Purdue, Bennedict Mathurin of Arizona, Keegan Murray of Iowa, Drew Timme of Gonzaga and Oscar Tshiebwe of Kentucky.
It marked his sixth All-America nod as he was previously recognized by USBWA, The Associated Press, NABC, The Sporting News and Sports Illustrated—the most of any Tiger in program history.
