Good morning. Sophomore catcher Ike Irish has been named Second Team Preseason All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

A year ago, the Hudsonville, Michigan, native became the 20th Freshman All-American in program history and set an Auburn freshman record with 24 doubles. He also earned SEC All-Freshman Team and Auburn Regional All-Tournament Team honors.

Irish started in all 58 games in his first season on The Plains and led the team with 28 multi-hit games while tying for second with 14 multi-RBI performances.

Irish and the No. 15 Tigers begin the 2024 campaign at Plainsman Park with a three-game series vs. Eastern Kentucky from Feb. 16-18. Limited tickets remain for all three contests.

🔼 Broome, in Perpetuity. Auburn's Johni Broome was honored by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) as one of five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week for games played through Sunday, Feb. 4.
 
The reigning Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, Broome averaged 15.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.0 blocks in wins over Vanderbilt and Ole Miss to put the Tigers at 18-4 overall and 7-2 in league play.
 
The 6-10, 240-pound junior forward/center recorded his 55th career double-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots against the Commodores. He also recorded 15 points, nine rebounds, a career-high seven assists and three blocks to hand the Rebels their first home loss of the season.

🔼 Next Stop, the Moon…Golf Invitational. No. 17 Auburn had its best round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Tuesday at Grand Reserve Golf Club. The Tigers carded a final round 277 (-11) to finish the event with a 54-hole total of 856 (-8) and a third-place finish. The team concluded the event two strokes behind champion Arkansas.

Senior Anna Foster was the highlight of Tuesday's round, shooting a career-low 65 (-7), while Megan Schofill finished the event in a tie for third individually.

"A great day of golf by our seniors Megan and Anna!" Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said after the final round. "So proud of their performances and their leadership. This performance taught them a lot, and they are excited to turn around soon and play at the Moon Golf Invitational."

The next event on the Auburn schedule is the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Florida. That event will be held Feb. 18-20 at Suntree Country Club.

🔼 McSpecial. Junior Gabby McLaughlin of the No. 14 Auburn gymnastics team was named the SEC Specialist of the Week—a first for any Tiger this season and the first of McLaughlin's career.

She has been one of Auburn's top performers so far this season, having eight scores of 9.9 or better between bars, beam and floor.
 
This past Friday, McLaughlin captured two event titles for the Tigers and helped the team reach a season-best 197.425. Highlighting her night was a career-high on the floor, which resulted in McLaughlin taking the event title with a 9.95. The floor win was the first of her career, and the individual score was her fourth straight 9.9 or better in the event.
 
McLaughlin added a 9.925 on beam to win the event crown, earning her second beam title of the season.
 
The Tigers host No. 7 Alabama on Friday, February 9, in Neville Arena. The two teams will face off at 8 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
