📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Double Standard. Hugh Freeze & Co. weren’t the only ones racking up wins this past weekend. Auburn volleyball won two matches (both in four sets!) at the Seminole Invitational, keeping them undefeated through their first five matches for the third time in as many seasons.

The Tigers began their first road test with a 3-1 victory over SMU—highlighted by sophomore outside hitter Madison Scheer and her match-high 18 kills on a blistering .324 hitting percentage.

And in the second match it was much of the same with a 3-1 win over hosts Florida State—led by transfer Bella Bell who finished the afternoon with 13 kills on .414 hitting and two blocks.

📅 The Tigers return to the Plains for a second non-conference tournament this weekend (Sept. 7-9) in Neville Arena, hosting Middle Tennessee, Charleston Southern and Mercer.

🔼 Brace For Impact. Thanks to Olivia Woodson scoring her first and second goals in her college career this past weekend, Auburn soccer cruised past American to the tune of a 3-0 win at the Auburn Soccer Complex.

Overall, the Tigers created a season-high 20 chances and stuck 10 of them on frame. It is the first time Auburn has taken 20 shots since ripping off 25 against UMass Lowell on Sept. 8, 2022. Aiding Olivia Woodson in the attack was redshirt-freshman Dylan Driver, who also netted the first goal of her collegiate career.

⚽️ Up next? The Tigers take an extended stay on the road as they will trek to West Virginia Thursday, Sept. 7 for a 6 p.m. CT matchup on ESPN+.

🤔 TIGER TRIVIA

Rush job. Every facet of Auburn football played well this weekend in the team’s 59-14 victory over UMass, but the ground game was especially good—totaling 289 yards on the day and six touchdowns.

🐅 ONE BIG THING

Band of brothers. Two weeks before Saturday's season opener, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze named Michigan State transfer Payton Thorne the team's starting quarterback. Thorne beat out Robby Ashford and Holden Geriner to win the job.

However, Freeze made sure to add that Ashford would still be a part of the game plan.

"He will always have a package," Freeze said. "He adds an element to us that's a little different."

On Saturday, Freeze stayed true to his word.

After Thorne led Auburn down the field for a touchdown on the game's opening drive, Ashford checked in on the second drive as the Tigers neared the red zone. He ran for 8 yards. The drive resulted in a field goal. Freeze called his number again on the first play of the second quarter, and this time Ashford took it 10 yards to the end zone.
