Bodda Getta Daily Brew 8/29: Don't Spoil the Ending
Auburn has written a whole new book this season—this Saturday's opener begins Chapter One
Good Morning, Auburn Family. When the 2023 season ended, that chapter of Auburn football ended with it. It was time to write a new book altogether. From spring practice to summer workouts to fall camp, the returning players and newcomers alike have been writing that story, one page at a time.
On Saturday, fans will get their first look when the Tigers open the 2024 season against Alabama A&M in a sold-out Jordan-Hare Stadium for Kickoff on The Plains.
“We’ve been writing some of this book, and now people get to start reading it Saturday,” head coach Hugh Freeze told his team this week.
“It's different than last year for sure,” added quarterback Payton Thorne. “You kind of look around, and you feel the energy in the building. You feel the confidence that the guys and our coaches have right now. It’s encouraging.”

🔼 Cage Match. For the first time this season, No. 13 Auburn soccer takes its unbeaten streak on the road as the Tigers face South Alabama tonight at 7 p.m. CT. This match at “The Cage” is free and open to the public.
It will be the 16th meeting between the Tigers and Jaguars, with Auburn holding the commanding 14-1-0 advantage over the previous 15 matchups.
Auburn rides the high of a 2-0 weekend into this evening’s contest. The Tigers netted nine while surrendering zero in a 6-0 win over Southern Miss and a 3-0 win against Coastal Carolina. It is just the third time in program history, and the first since 2015, that Auburn has begun the year with three straight shutout victories.
