Good morning. Fifth-year Cassie Stevens of the No. 14 Auburn gymnastics team added to her list of honors and was named a regular-season All-American by the WCGA on Thursday.
 
Stevens won five all-around titles during the regular season and reached a career-high 39.700 in Auburn's win over Alabama on Feb. 9. She scored a 39.55 or higher six times in the all-around, competing in all four events every meet this season.

🔼 Hoops in Hindsight. Still feeling the sting from an NCAA Tournament defeat, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl credited his opponent, defended his players, praised the program's latest championship and looked ahead to next season during Thursday's season-reviewing media availability.

Pearl recounted the miscues that led Yale to overcome a 10-point second-half deficit to upset Auburn 78-76 last Friday in the round of 64 in Spokane, Washington, without minimizing the underdog's accomplishment.

🔼 M-Squared The Magnificent. Following an exhilarating start to the 2024 Men's NCAA Championships, Auburn continued its stellar performance on night two inside the IU Natatorium on Thursday.
 
Mason Mathias's top-eight performances in the 500 free and the 200 free relay squad kept the Tigers in ninth place (67 points) at the halfway mark of the championships. If anyone knows how to make 500 yards electric, it's Mathias. The junior from Leeds already had the three fastest times of any Tiger in history in the event. On Thursday, Mathias outmaneuvered them all with a 4:10.83, a new school record and the sixth fastest time of the morning session.

🔼 Linking Up. No. 10 Auburn Women’s Golf will return to action after a brief break from competition today and tomorrow at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Georgia. The Tigers will defend their title from 2023 when they won the rain-shortened event by 11 strokes over second-place South Carolina.

The event will begin with 36 holes and a shotgun start today, followed by 18 holes with tee times on Saturday. Auburn will begin the event at 7:30 a.m. CT on hole No. 1 through No. 3 at UGA Golf Course.

🔼 Aggravating Evening. No. 21 Auburn responded from three-run deficits on a pair of occasions but ultimately dropped the series opener at No. 4 Texas A&M 9-7 Thursday night. Ike Irish led the way from the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and a home run. Chris Stanfield added a pair of hits for the third straight game, and Mason Maners matched Irish with a homer for the third straight contest.

Game two between the Tigers and Aggies is scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. CT at Blue Bell Park.

🔼 Winners Circle. Opening up a nine-game homestand with a top-five opponent, Auburn softball (15-9, 2-7 SEC) hosts No. 4 Tennessee (25-4, 6-0 SEC) for a three-game series. Auburn opens the series this evening at 5 p.m. CT on the SEC Network. Makayla Packer Day is set for Saturday as the Tigers will honor their dynamic centerfielder in a pregame ceremony. First pitch on the SEC Network+ is set for 4 p.m. CT. Sunday's finale is set for 1 p.m. CT.
 
"Tennessee is good in all areas," said head coach Mickey Dean. "We have the second toughest schedule in the country. We weren't looking for easy. That's not going to make us better down the stretch."

🔼 Tennisee. No. 16 Women's tennis will play its final two home matches of the season today and Sunday. Auburn will play 24^th -ranked Tennessee on Friday at 3 p.m. CT and cap off the home schedule with Senior Day against No. 4 Georgia at noon CT on Sunday. The Tigers will enter the weekend with momentum after sweeping their Mississippi road trip, defeating both Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

🔼 Layin’ Down the Hammer. Auburn Track & Field travels to Florida for the second consecutive week to compete in the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Florida, March 29-30. The action will start this morning at 10:00 a.m. CT with the women's hammer throw and pick back up Saturday with the men's discus throw at 8:00 a.m. CT.  

The Tigers look to carry the positive momentum into Gainesville after a successful meet last weekend at the FSU Relays. The Tigers had first-place finishes in eight different events.  

🔼 Looking to Get a Leg Up. The No. 5 Auburn equestrian team kicks off the postseason today, competing at the 2024 Southeastern Conference Championship, held in College Station, Texas, from March 29-30.

The Tigers are the No. 3 seed in the tournament and will face No. 2 seed Georgia this morning at 10 a.m. CT. The next semifinal match will feature No. 1 seed and host Texas A&M vs. No. 4 seed South Carolina. The winner of the two semifinal matches will go head-to-head at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 30.
