Bodda Getta Daily Brew 9/26: Hall of Sack Fame

Derick Hall sacks the Miami Dolphins' QB not once, but twice in this week's Auburn Made NFL Rundown

Good Morning, Tigers. This week, Derick Hall put in a vintage performance. The former Auburn star made plays all over the field for the Seahawks and sacked the quarterback not once but twice.

BEST OF WEEK 3

Derick Hall, LB, Seattle Seahawks
Making his first NFL start Sunday, Hall took full advantage of the opportunity. The second-year pass-rusher finished with two sacks, four quarterback hits, five tackles and a forced fumble to lead the Seahawks to a dominant 24-3 victory over the Miami Dolphins. After the game, he was given the game ball by first-year head coach Mike Macdonald, who said Hall was "playing with his hair on fire."

🔼 Rough Crowd. Tougher Players. Auburn Soccer gears up for its first road match of Southeastern Conference play this week. The No. 8 Tigers travel to Texas A&M for a 7 p.m. CT matchup at Ellis Field tonight.

“This may be the toughest environment we play in all year,” Tigers head coach Karen Hoppa said. “Texas A&M’s gameday experience and crowd is incredible. Their fans surround the stadium. It’s a fun environment, but it’s also very difficult and very distracting.”

Heading into tonight’s match, the Tigers boast the nation’s top goals-against average (GAA) at 0.20 goals allowed per game. The Orange & Blue offense has also put away 33 goals, which ranks second in the country.

🔼 Christmas Comes Early For Auburn WBB Fans. The network and tip time have been set for the Challenge in Charlottesville!

🔼 Love For Lambert-Smith. Despite a tough loss to Arkansas on Saturday, KeAndre Lambert-Smith displayed his immense talent. He caught five passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns, with most of his production coming in the second half.

Lambert-Smith had a one-handed 54-yard grab in the third quarter on a throw down the sideline from QB Payton Thorne, and he scored two plays later on a throw over the middle.

🔼 Gilly’s Got the Goods, Indeed. Auburn men’s golf sophomore Josiah Gilbert was named the Southeastern Conference’s Golfer of the Week after earning the first individual win of his collegiate career earlier in the week at the Valero Texas Collegiate.

Gilbert shot 66-67-71 (-12) to tie for first in the 90-man field competing at TPC San Antonio. His cumulative total, 12-under, also set a new personal best for low tournament score. He led the Tigers to a third-place finish at 19-under overall. Auburn finished ahead of five other ranked programs, including top-10 squads Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
