Good Morning, Tigers. Proceeds from Auburn’s men’s basketball exhibition vs. Florida Atlantic on Nov. 1 at Neville Arena will benefit Auburn’s Melton Scholars Program, an initiative close to the heart of head coach Bruce Pearl.

“I tell my guys: there are going to be roadblocks, obstacles and detours, but you can navigate them and be anything you want to be,” Pearl said.

Named in honor of 1988 Auburn graduate Harold Melton, the former Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court and Auburn’s first Black student body president, the program increases access for underrepresented students so they can thrive academically, socially and personally.

Talking Tigers Podcast - Football Technology
College football introduced two new pieces of technology to the game this season. Electronic communication with players on the field, plus tablets on the sidelines and in the coaching boxes above the field.

Tyler Renard handles Auburn's helmet technology, while Matt Hard is in charge of the tablets or iPads. The NCAA guidelines govern the use of both. This Talking Tigers Podcast features Tyler Renard and Matt Hard discussing football technology.

🔼 PUTTing His Best Foot Forward. Sophomore Josiah Gilbert fired a 12-under performance to earn the first individual win of his collegiate career and lead the top-ranked Auburn men’s golf team in a tied-for-third-place showing at the Valero Texas Collegiate Monday at TPC San Antonio.

Auburn concluded the tournament with a three-round score of 19-under 845. After a slow start in the final round, the Tigers caught fire on the home stretch, shooting 11-under over the final nine holes to post a day’s best 8-under-par. 

 “Top three in a field this stacked is always something to be proud of,” Tigers head coach Nick Clinard said.

🔼 All Four One. If Auburn Soccer hasn’t yet been on your radar this season as they continue to shoot up the rankings, it’s time. ICYMI, the Tigers have allowed only two goals in 10 games while posting a 9-0-1 record.

🔼 Strokes Of Near Genius. No. 6 Women’s golf captured a second-place finish on Monday at the rain-shortened Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma. After the weather canceled the second round on Sunday, the tournament was shortened to two rounds. The Tigers carded a 280 (E) in Monday’s second round to finish the event at 7-under (553) and two strokes behind tournament champion Houston.

Anna Davis carded just the third round of 64 (-6) ever turned in by a Tiger in the opening round on Saturday, which tied the lowest single round in program history. Davis shot a 1-over 71 in the second round and notched her second runner-up individual finish in as many tournaments after finishing 5-under for the event (135).
