Fall camp is underway as Auburn prepares for Kickoff on The Plains. Hear from Auburn players and go inside practice during the first week of camp.

🔼 Softball Savvy, Book Smart. Nine members of the 2024 Auburn softball program were named Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2023-24 academic year, the organization announced this week. 

To qualify for scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the previous academic year. 

As a team, Auburn posted a 3.43 team GPA over the academic year.

🔼 Mighty Maka Mania. Makanakaishe “Maka” Charamba ran a 20.31 in the 200m semi-finals to solidify his spot in today’s final at 1:30 pm CT.

🔼 The Writing Was On the Wall. Auburn receiver Robert Lewis has been named to the 2024 Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list.

A transfer from Georgia State, Lewis earned all-Sun Belt honors last season while setting GSU’s single-game record with 220 receiving yards vs. Charlotte. In 32 career games at Georgia State, he made 102 receptions for 1,323 yards and 14 touchdowns.

After enrolling at Auburn in January and participating in spring practice, Lewis made a game-high five receptions in the Tigers’ A-Day scrimmage, netting 73 yards.

In its 31^st year, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football’s outstanding pass catcher, regardless of position.

🔼 The Calm Before the Storm. Auburn soccer rounds out its preseason with a pair of exhibition matches designed as fine tune-ups before officially opening the 2024 season the following week.

First, Auburn treks to Macon, Georgia, for a 4 p.m. CT clash with Mercer on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Next, the Tigers wrap the exhibition slate at home, welcoming Memphis to The Plains on Saturday, Aug. 10. Kickoff versus Memphis is slated for 6 p.m. CT.

The 2024 season commences Thursday, Aug. 15, as Auburn opens the year with Clemson. It will be the program’s 26^th season under the leadership of head coach Karen Hoppa.
