🎥 WAREAGLE+: NATIONAL SIGNING DAY

National Signing Day is Dec. 4. Stay tuned to WarEagle+ for an exclusive all-access look at the newest class of Auburn Tigers.

🔼 Nice to Meet You. The Southeastern Conference and ESPN announced Wednesday that five regular-season Auburn gymnastics meets will be televised live nationally.

Auburn's first home meet of the year will also be its first SEC contest of 2025, as the team hosts Arkansas on January 17. That meet will be televised on SEC Network beginning at 6 p.m. CT. Auburn then hosts Oregon State on January 24 in Neville Arena and the meet will be at 8:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.

⇢ Go here for the full rundown on the Auburn Gymnastics schedule. 🤸🏻‍♀️

🔼 Leader of the Pack. Auburn cross country freshman Brenda Jepchirchir was named the 2024 Southeastern Conference Women’s Cross Country Freshman of the Year. The winners are voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Competing in four meets for the Tigers, Jepchirchir was the top finisher in each. At the conference championships, Jepchirchir ran her best race of the season in the women’s 6k, finishing 5th overall, leading the women to an eighth-place finish (19:13.60). She was the first freshman to finish the course and delivered the best showing from an Auburn freshman since Brenda Kigen finished fourth in 2015. Following her successful performance, she earned women’s second-team and all-freshman team honors.

🔼 A Battle Royale. For the third time this season, Madison Scheer powered down 18 kills as Auburn (14-11, 4-10) battled tough all night with No. 20 Florida (20-5, 11-3) inside Neville Arena. It wasn’t quite enough, though, as the Tigers fell in four sets, 3-1 (25-17, 25-23, 25-20, 25-21)

🔼 Raising the Stakes. Auburn junior DJ Bennett and freshman Merna Refaat each earned ITA Singles All-American honors on Wednesday at the NCAA Singles Championship in Waco, Texas. Bennett defeated Sofia Johnson of Old Dominion, while Refaat bested Elza Tomase of Tennessee, the tournament’s four-seed, to advance to the round of 16.

On Thursday, Refaat will play, while Bennett will face California’s Katja Wiersholm. The times for both matches are still to be determined. Television coverage of the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championship will be available on ESPN+. Live scoring for each match will also be available online at ioncourt.com.

🔼 How About That Tiger Tennis, Eh? The Auburn doubles team of Billy Blaydes and Will Nolan earned an opening-round victory on Wednesday at the NCAA Doubles Championship in Waco, Texas. The Auburn pair defeated Stanford’s Nicholas Godsick and Samir Banerjee by a 6-2, 6-4 score.

The win marks the Tiger duo’s 10th of the fall, and their sixth consecutive doubles win together. Blaydes and Nolan will face a doubles squad from either Baylor or UCLA today at a time that is TBD. A win today would automatically qualify Blaydes and Nolan as ITA Doubles All-Americans.

🔼 The “Ke” to Success. THREE QUESTIONS WITH WR KEANDRE LAMBERT-SMITH 👇🏼

Q: What do you want to accomplish in these next two games? What are your goals?

A: Honestly, get the win. And do whatever I’ve got to do. Whether that’s 10 catches – which I would love – for however many yards. I know I also have a chance to get 1,000 yards…

Q: It’s Senior Day this week. What will you remember from your last year here at Auburn?

A: Overcoming adversity. I had a lot of good memories – winning at Kentucky, seeing the fans there, hopping in the crowd … I made memories. I made some friends that taught me a lot…

🔼 What a Battle, Indeed. Taliah Scott scored a game-high 28 points, and Auburn clawed its way back from a double-digit deficit, but the Tigers could not finish off the comeback in a 70-68 loss at No. 23 Oregon Wednesday night.

Auburn stays on the West Coast for a night contest tomorrow at California. Game time is 6 p.m. PT/8 p.m. CT at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley.
