Good Morning, Auburn Family. North Alabama brought quickness and determination to Neville Arena Monday, but the Lions had no answer for Johni Broome. Auburn’s All-American scored 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the No. 4 Tigers to a 102-69 victory.

Broome had 17 points and seven rebounds in the first half, adding 13 points and 10 rebounds after intermission.

Oh, and just in case you think his only talent is scoring, please observe: 👇🏼

🎥 WAREAGLE+: TALKING TIGERS

Talking Tigers - Tim and Kim Hudson
They met when he played JUCO baseball at Chattahoochee Valley. Tim and Kim Hudson eventually came to Auburn for school. He was the National and SEC Player of the Year in 1997 on the Tigers College World Series team. She was his tutor.

Tim played for Oakland and Atlanta and won a World Series with San Francisco. While in Atlanta, they formed the Hudson Family Foundation. This week, children from Lee County will gather at Neville Arena for the ceremony. Each of over 1,200 children’s families will receive a gift certificate for a Thanksgiving meal. This is only a small part of what the Hudson Family Foundation does in the Auburn, Opelika, and Lee County communities.

Kim and Tim Hudson tell their Auburn Stories in this Talking Tigers Podcast.

🔼 She Took the Call. Former Auburn soccer standout Alyssa Malonson has been called up to play for the U.S. Women’s National Team in its final camp of the year, as announced by U.S. Soccer and USWNT head coach Emma Hayes Monday.

It is Malonson’s second call-up in a row. She was previously invited to the late October camp, where she earned her first cap on Oct. 30 in a 3-0 win against Argentina. Malonson earned the start and played 70 minutes before being relieved by Casey Krueger. In the 49th minute, she got on the scoresheet with an assist on the final goal of the match from Naomi Girma. Malonson became the 17th player in USWNT history to register an assist in her first appearance.

🔼 Every Rose Has Its Thorne. With five TDs in his last outing, it’s no wonder. Congrats, Payton Thorne!

The 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward out of St. John’s High School in Houston, Texas, was the No. 35 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 and a Top 10-ranked player in his position nationally.

🗣“Sebastian fits the mold of so many of the great point forwards we’ve had here at Auburn. He is tough and physical. He can guard multiple positions on the floor.” - Bruce Pearl, head coach

🔼 Post-Grad Praise. Former Auburn gymnast and current graduate assistant Cassie Stevens Pruitt was named a recipient of the NCAA Today’s Top 10 Award. The award recognizes former student-athletes for their exceptional athletic and academic achievements, as well as their contributions to their campuses and communities.

Stevens Pruitt earned a pair of Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association All-America honors on vault and in the all-around throughout her career and won a Southeastern Conference title on vault in 2023. She also received several academic honors throughout her time with the program, including a pair of College Sports Communicators Academic All-America recognitions, and twice was named an SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

🔼 Tigers Tennis Heads to Texas! Three women’s singles players and one doubles team will represent Auburn at the 2024-25 NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships in Waco, Texas. DJ Bennett, Angella Okutoyi and Merna Refaat will compete for a singles national championship today, while Bennett and Ava Hrastar will make a run at the doubles title tomorrow.

The singles competition features a 64-player field, with one round being played each day and the championship taking place on Sunday. Bennett and Hrastar will be one of 32 doubles teams playing for the NCAA Doubles Championship title. One round will be played each day beginning on Wednesday, with the championship match on Sunday.

🔼 They Picked Six. Following successful performances at the 2024 NCAA South Regional last Friday in Tallahassee, Florida, six Tigers earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honors.

Freshmen Brenda Jepchirchir and Nickson Chebii, sophomore Max Hardin, junior Gené Coetzee and seniors Ryan Kinnane and Carson Bedics were awarded USTFCCA All-Region status. Athletes earned the All-Region distinction by finishing in the top 25 at one of the nine regional sites.

🔼 Raised On Auburn. Quarterback Jackson Barkley concludes his football career where his love for the game first began – with the Auburn Tigers.

“I’ve been coming to Auburn games since I was 3, so I always had a love for Auburn and always wanted to come here for college,” Barkley explained.

Barkley’s own football career could have ended as the team captain at Pope High in Marietta, Georgia, but he felt a nudge to do something more.

“After high school ball was over, I didn’t really feel like it was over for me – there was always something more there,” he recalls.

Read On the Plains With Jackson Barkley for more on what being a collegiate athlete has done for him, his academic success and why there’s no family like the Auburn Family.
