🔼 All Aboard the Winning Wagon. Johni Broome and Chaney Johnson each scored 18 points—the most the latter has totaled in two seasons on the Plains—to lead No. 5 Auburn past Kent State 79-56 Wednesday at Neville Arena.

In Auburn’s first three games, Johnson is shooting 68 percent (18 for 25) after going 8-for-11 against the Golden Flashes, including 2-for-3 from 3-point range. Broome recorded a double-double, adding 12 rebounds along with three blocked shots. Auburn’s big men – Broome, Johnson and Dylan Cardwell – shared the game’s assist high with Tahaad Pettiford with four each.

🔼 Big Challenge For Little Rock. Auburn women’s basketball looks to wrap up its season-opening three-game home stand on a high note tonight when the Tigers host Little Rock at Neville Arena for the annual Military Appreciation game. Game time is 7 p.m. CT. It’s the last home game for Auburn for more than three weeks, as the Tigers won’t be back in Neville Arena until Dec. 8.

🔼 Made On The Plains. After playing his first six seasons in Tampa Bay, Carlton Davis has found a new home in Detroit this season and was instrumental in the Lions’ comeback win Sunday with two second-half interceptions.

Carlton Davis, CB, Detroit Lions

The former second-round pick recorded four total tackles, but it was his two game-changing interceptions in the second half that ignited the comeback. Davis intercepted a pass on the first play of the second half and then again late in the third quarter when he came out of nowhere and snatched the ball away from a wide-open Tank Dell to prevent a touchdown. It was the first two picks of the season for Davis, who earned the highest PFF grade (91.3) among all NFL cornerbacks for Week 10. He now has 11 career interceptions.

🔼 She’s Gotten Her FILL. Megan Schofill and her teammates were honored on Pat Dye Field for winning the 2024 NCAA Auburn Regional and reaching match play at the NCAA Championship for the fourth time since 2019. Minutes earlier, Schofill received the Leah Rawls Atkins Award, presented annually for excellence in academics and athletics to a student-athlete who models leadership, integrity and courage.

🔼 Eva 4-EVA. Romanian talent Eva Ionescu has signed with Auburn women’s tennis, head coach Jordan Szabo has announced. Ionescu will join the Tigers in the fall of 2025.

Ionescu achieved a career-high ITF Junior Ranking of 115th in July and has six ITF Juniors doubles titles to her name, including two this year and three in 2022. She holds a career-high Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking of 874 and a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 10.52.

🔼 Seeing Double(s). Charlotte Cantonis and Frances Brown have both signed with Auburn Women’s Golf, head coach Melissa Luellen has announced. Cantonis and Brown will join the Tigers in the fall of 2025.

Cantonis has three wins on the Florida Junior Tour at the 2023 Bent Creek Open, the 2023 Mission Inn Open and the 2022 Ocala Open. She qualified for match play at the 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur and reached the round of 32. Brown is a three-time individual Alabama High School State Champion ranked third in the Alabama Golf Association’s junior girls rankings.
