🎥 WAREAGLE+: THIS WEEK IN AUBURN VOLLEYBALL
🔼 This Whole Team Can Playyyy. No. 1 Auburn men’s golf took home bronze in a loaded field at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational thanks to the outstanding play of senior Brendan Valdes and freshman Billy Davis, who finished Tuesday’s final round in second and tied for third place, respectively.
Valdes shot 69-66-69 (-6) to place runner-up to North Carolina’s David Ford, who earned low medalist at 9-under. Over his three rounds, Valdes birdied 14 times and even made his first career ace on hole 13 during round two.
Auburn finished third in the 15-team field, which featured 13 teams in the latest top-25 rankings. The Tigers concluded the tournament at 4-under-par, just six shots shy of No. 8 Oklahoma’s winning score of 10-under.
🔼 Has a Nice Ring to It. Continuing on with men’s golf, Coach Nick Clinard and the whole team received their NCAA Championship rings Friday & were honored Saturday at Jordan-Hare.
“They’re connected, they’re committed & they love each other,” Coach Clinard said.
🔼 Terrific Tiger Tennis Trio. Auburn men’s tennis alumni were active on national and international stages this summer. From Paris, France, to Budapest, Hungary, to New York City, three former Tigers have showcased their talents at various professional tournaments worldwide.
Auburn standout Tim Puetz had a busy summer overseas, participating in the Terra Wortmann Open, the Hamburg Open, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the U.S. Open Tennis Championships in men’s doubles alongside partner Kevin Krawietz.
While in Paris, the German duo breezed through the first and second rounds of the Olympic Games to advance to the quarterfinals. Puetz and Krawietz were bested in the semifinal round.
