WBB coach Johnnie Harris talks defense, transfers and a season without Honesty at SEC Tipoff ‘25
Good Morning, Tigers. Focusing first on defense helped Johnnie Harris lead Auburn women’s basketball back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in five years. In her fourth season on the Plains, Harris will continue to prioritize defense.
“It’s what we do,” Harris said.
Harris traveled to the Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook on Wednesday for SEC Tipoff ’25, outlining how Auburn will look to replace the offensive firepower of departed All-American Honesty Scott-Grayson.
Go here for more on the WBB at the SEC Tipoff ‘25, including senior forward Taylen Collins representing for the second time, Texas transfer DeYona Gaston and how “hungry” this team is to win.
Wait until you see what else we have mixed into the Brew today. Check it out below!

🔼 Graded on a Bell Curve. Graduate Bella Bell delivered a career-best 22 kills and hit .465 from the right side, but it wasn’t enough for Auburn (14-3, 4-2) to outlast Alabama (10-7, 2-4) in five sets, 3-2 (25-23, 15-25, 22-25, 26-24, 16-14).
Here are some other quick hits on the great play by Bell’s teammates:
- Madison Scheer (16 kills) reached double digits for the 10th straight match
- Lauren Dreves (16 digs) reached double digits for the 13th time this season
- Fallan Lanham’s two aces were a season-best
- Peyton Dunn collected her sixth double-double of the season (32 assists, 12 digs)
- Alexis Dacosta set a new career best in digs (24)
