🎙️ TALKING TIGERS
He was headed to Alabama, but Bear Bryant wouldn’t let him play more than one sport. As a result, Ronnie Baynes came to Auburn. He lettered in football and baseball. In addition to a Hall of Fame career as a high school football & baseball coach, Baynes began to officiate high school football games. That led to the SEC, then to the NFL. He went on to work in the Super Bowl and isn’t the only one in his family to do so. Ronnie Baynes is featured in this Talking Tigers Podcast.

🔼 Wrecking Ball. Auburn defensive end Keldric Faulk has been named to the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List! The award is presented to the most outstanding defensive player in college football. Last season, Faulk made seven sacks, 11 tackles for loss and 45 tackles last season.

🔼 Special Force. Auburn assistant coach Chad Lunsford, who was part of Auburn’s 2010 national championship team, returned to Auburn in January to lead the special teams units. Lunsford emphasizes discipline, toughness and a “one shot, one kill” mentality. He appreciates head coach Hugh Freeze’s philosophy of utilizing the best players on special teams and is excited to be back in the Auburn family.
“I think now I can be an even better assistant coach because of being a head coach and actually sitting in that seat and understanding I can be the head coach’s biggest advocate.”

🔼 Schedule’s Set. The 2025 cross country schedule is here, featuring four regular season meets. The season will begin at the Foothills Invitational on Aug. 29. They’ll compete at the SEC Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. on Oct. 31. Afterwards, the Tigers will compete at the NCAA South Regional on No. 14 to kick off NCAA postseason action.
