Ken Harnden has won five straight National Assistant Coach of the Year Honors. Now he becomes a head coach for the first time in his career following Wilbur Hutsell, Mel Rosen, Harvey Glance, Ralph Spry and Leroy Burrell at Auburn. 🔼 Talkin’ In Tampa. Auburn will take on SEC Media Days on July 21! Head coach Alex Golesh will be joined by Byrum Brown, Champ Anthony and Alex McPherson. SEC Media Days is being held in Tampa, Fla. this year.
🔼 Rising Star. Auburn baseball announced the hiring of Nick Ammirati as the new assistant coach and hitting coordinator. He’s considered a rising star in the industry, coming to Auburn after serving as the hitting coach at Kentucky and Georgia. In the last three seasons, he has helped lead his programs to Omaha twice and has won three SEC Championships.
🔼 New Role. Auburn baseball associate head coach Gabe Gross will transition to a new role and serve Auburn as a special assistant for athletics engagement. He will assist with fundraising efforts and appear on Auburn baseball radio and television broadcasts, among other duties.
“I have two teenagers at home, and our time with them under our roof is quickly fading. The current construct of collegiate athletics and college baseball demand your full attention, and my family does as well. While it’s difficult to step away, I know it’s the right decision.”
