Bodda Getta Brew 6/9: Rembert's Star On the Rise

Auburn freshman baseball player Chris Rembert has earned an invitation to the 2025 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team training camp.

Good Morning, Auburn Family. Auburn freshman Chris Rembert has earned an invitation to the 2025 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team training camp, featuring 56 of the premier non-draft-eligible players across the country. Training camp games begin June 29 and feature a five-game series between the Stars and Stripes.

Rembert is Auburn’s first position player to earn an invite to training camp since Will Holland in 2018 and will look to become the first to make the national team since Anfernee Grier in 2015.

Auburn’s first freshman to earn first or second team All-SEC honors since Hunter Morris in 2008, Rembert led the league with a .485 on-base percentage in SEC play and ranked third with a .376 batting average.

Tucker Smith came to Auburn for his college education—well, that and to fish. A three-time national champion in high school, the longtime Auburn fan came to the Plains to follow in the footsteps of Jordan & Matt Lee and Logan Parks. Tucker and Logan teamed up to win a tournament on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri, that netted them a million dollars. Now, Tucker is a member of the Bassmaster Elite Series. He picked up his first win at Lake Fork in Texas last month. With three tournaments remaining this season, he’s in position to qualify for the Bassmaster Classic next season.

🔼 Quad Squad (And More!). Returning to NCAA outdoors for the second straight year, Vimbayi Maisvorewa will compete in two events, the 400m and the leadoff leg of the 4x400m relay.

“I’m so excited to be able to go back again. I’m so excited that I’m going with my ladies here for 4x4,” said Maisvorewa, acknowledging relay teammates Ashantae Harvey, Zuriel Reed and Deborah Oke. “We’re confident that we’re ready for this because we’ve been working from fall up to now.”

🔼 Tiger Talent Runs Deep. Josiah Gilbert and Carson Bacha became the third and fourth Auburn players to earn PING All-America honors for the 2024-25 season, as they were named to the second and third team, respectively.

The duo joins first team selections Jackson Koivun and Brendan Valdes as the Tigers’ All-American honorees, setting a program record for the most in a single season.

Gilbert began the year with his first career win at the Valero Texas Collegiate and followed it up with five consecutive top 15s. Bacha had a career year as a senior, appearing in all 14 team events, finishing top 10 in half of them.
