Matt Gatens has rejoined Auburn Men’s Basketball as the program’s new general manager.

Good Morning, Auburn Family. Matt Gatens has rejoined Auburn men’s basketball as the program’s new general manager, as announced by head coach Bruce Pearl. Gatens was on Pearl’s staff at Auburn from 2016-18.
One of the University of Iowa’s all-time leading scorers, Gatens returns to the Plains after serving as an assistant coach at his alma mater where he spent the last three seasons with the Hawkeyes.
“It was important for me to have someone who had strong experience and understanding the challenges of Name, Image and Likeness,” Pearl said.

🔼 His Initials May Be “J.K.,” But This Guy’s No Joke. A rising junior on the Auburn men’s golf team, Jackson Koivun has officially qualified for the 2025 Walker Cup as the top-ranked amateur player in the world. He will join the United States side for the event set for Sept. 6-7, 2025, at Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, California.

Irish has previously earned first-team recognition from Perfect Game and the American Baseball Coaches Association. He has also been named First Team All-SEC and ABCA First Team All-Southeast Region for the second straight season as well as a semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy.
Irish’s 13 home runs in SEC play were the most by an Auburn player since Josh Etheredge also hit 13 home runs in 1997.
