Bodda Getta Brew 6/2: Super Play, Super Regional
Tigers Baseball team will stay on the Plains to host a super regional for the first time in program history after sweeping the NCAA Auburn Regional.
Good Morning, Auburn Family. The No. 4 Auburn baseball team will remain on the Plains, hosting a super regional for the first time in program history, after sweeping the NCAA Auburn Regional by blasting NC State 11-1 Sunday at Plainsman Park.
After three scoreless innings, Auburn broke open the game with seven runs in the top of fourth, loading the bases with no outs on a single and a pair of walks to chase NC State starter Dominic Fritton after 88 pitches.
Auburn outscored Central Connecticut State, Stetson and NC State 28-11 to sweep its way to the first super regional in Plainsman Park when the Tigers host Coastal Carolina, with dates and times expected to be announced today.
“It’s going to be electric,” Ike Irish, Auburn’s first two-time First Team All-SEC honoree since associate head coach Gabe Gross a quarter century ago, said. “I think the fanbase is going to get behind us again.”
“We’re down to one team that’s in our way of going back to Omaha,” said head coach Butch Thompson. “We’ll play the hottest team in college baseball. We’ve got to keep our head down and keep fighting for that consistency.”

Answer: 7,434!
In front of the what was thought to be the largest crowd in Plainsman Park history – 7,367 – No. 4 Auburn started fast, and reliever Carson Myers cooled off upset-minded Central Connecticut in the Tigers’ 9-5 victory Friday in the NCAA regional tournament opener.
On Saturday, however, even that record was broken, with 7,434 in attendance!
🐅 Have an awesome week, Auburn Fam!
