🎥 TALKING TIGERS

She was coming to Auburn to play golf when the program was dropped. When women’s golf returned, Virginia Derby was the first recruit. Derby went on to coach at Auburn, and embarked on a spectacular career in amateur golf. Virginia Derby Grimes has won the Alabama Amateur and the Alabama Senior Amateur. She was part of winning teams in the Curtis Cup as a player and a captain. After a 13 year span away from the game, the Alabama Sports Hall of Famer has returned to competitive golf.

🔼 Region Record. A program-record six Tigers earned First or Second Team All-Southwest Region honors by the American Baseball Coaches Association! Jake Marciano earned First Team honors, while Chase Fralick, Chris Rembert, Alex Petrovic, LJ Cormier and Jackson Sanders landed on the Second Team.

🔼 The Trident. Auburn men’s golfers Jackson Koivun, Josiah Gilbert and Jake Albert were named Golfweek’s Men’s College All-Americans! Koivun earned first team honors, Gilbert was named to the second team, and Albert received an honorable mention nod. Gilbert and Albert earned the same honors from PING.

 🔼 Double Trouble. Auburn women’s golfers Anna Davis and Balma Dávalos have been named Golfweek All-American honorable mentions! Davis has earned postseason honors from Golfweek in three straight seasons.

Chasing Awards. Auburn catcher Chase Fralick was named a Second Team All-American by Perfect Game. He is the first primary catcher from Auburn to earn All-American honors since 1999.
