🎥 TALKING TIGERS

She was coming to Auburn to play golf when the program was dropped. When women’s golf returned, Virginia Derby was the first recruit. Derby went on to coach at Auburn, and embarked on a spectacular career in amateur golf. Virginia Derby Grimes has won the Alabama Amateur and the Alabama Senior Amateur. She was part of winning teams in the Curtis Cup as a player and a captain. After a 13 year span away from the game, the Alabama Sports Hall of Famer has returned to competitive golf.

🔼 What A Night. Lionel Messi scored a penalty kick in the 71st minute, leading Argentina to a 3-0 victory over Iceland in front of a crowd of 88,043 at Jordan-Hare Stadium, the largest crowd ever to see a soccer game in the state of Alabama. The match, part of Argentina’s Road to ’26 exhibition tour, featured unique Auburn elements like an eagle flight and honorary captain Daniel Carson.

🔼 Chasing Championships. Auburn track & field has 17 entries competing in the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships today through Saturday. The meet is held at historic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Auburn’s action begins tonight at 7:05 p.m. CT with the 4×100m relay semifinals.

 🔼 Regional Recognition. Auburn women’s tennis earned three regional ITA honors! Head coach Jordan Szabo was named ITA Southern Region Coach of the Year. DJ Bennett was named ITA Senior Player of the Year, while Angella Okutoyi earned ITA Southern Region Most Improved Player!

🔼 On The Plains. Men’s tennis senior Nicholas Heng reflects on his journey from a global junior career to playing collegiate tennis. He credits Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds and the Auburn Family for their support and guidance throughout the last four years. Heng will intern in New York City in investment analytics before pursuing a Master of Management at Michigan.

Big Stage. Auburn men’s golfer Logan Reilly qualified for the U.S. Open! He shot 68-67 in his qualifier at Woodmont to punch his ticket. This accomplishment comes just five days after winning the National Championship.
