Auburn women's tennis holds super regional trophy

🔼  Going To Athens. The top-ranked Auburn women’s tennis team defeated No. 15 Duke 4-2 in the NCAA Super Regional, advancing to the national quarterfinals for the first time in program history! Auburn clinched the doubles point and won singles matches from Ekaterina Khairutdinova, Ava Esposito and Angella Okutoyi, who secured the victory with a three-set win. The Tigers will face No. 10 LSU in the quarterfinals on Friday.

🔼 Bounced Back. After dropping Thursday’s series opener at No. 10 Mississippi State, No. 5 Auburn baseball never looked back. Chase Fralick hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to lead the Tigers to a 5-4 win on Friday. They went on to win again on Saturday, 13-2, led by Eric Guevara’s three hits.

🔼  Instant Impact. Auburn softball shortstop Alyssa Hastings was named to the All-SEC Second Team. Hastings led Auburn in batting average, slugging percentage and on-base percentage against conference opponents, and was also recognized for her defensive prowess.

Hall Of Famers. Auburn standouts Kim Evans, Jason Campbell, and Tommy Tuberville were inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday. Evans, a former women’s golf coach, led the Tigers to eight SEC championships. Campbell, a former quarterback, was the MVP of the 2004 SEC championship game and the 2005 Sugar Bowl. Tuberville, a former head football coach, led Auburn to a 13-0 season in 2004.
