Good Morning, Auburn Family. Here are some highlights from this week’s Auburn Baseball Notebook: 📓 👇🏼

  • Auburn ranked second in the league with a .341 average in four games last week, outhitting Alabama .372 to .196 in the weekend series.

  • Eight of the nine players in the lineup for all three games against the Crimson Tide hit .300 or higher, including four who hit .400 or higher.

  • The Tigers’ 3.96 ERA was the lowest in a three-game SEC series since turning in a 3.67 ERA in three games vs. Arkansas last season.

  • The team’s series win against Alabama marked the fifth in the last seven meetings against the Crimson Tide.

📹 WAREAGLE+: TALKING TIGERS

Talking Tigers - Randall Dickey
He came from rural Arkansas to coach at some of the top basketball programs in the country. Randall Dickey grew up in a home of educators. His mother and father were high school teachers. His father won state championships as a high school basketball coach. His college connections include Henry Iba, Eddie Sutton and Don Haskins.

Following his coaching career at Auburn, he went into administration, working with the Tiger Baseball program. He now works alongside Andy Burcham on the Auburn Sports Network basketball broadcasts. Randall Dickey is featured in this Talking Tigers Podcast.

🔼 Much Ado About the Fanfare. This one goes out to you, the FANS!

🔼 Stiff Competition On Deck. Kicking off a week of four games against top-15 opponents, the No. 9 Auburn (22-10) baseball team travels to Atlanta to take on No. 15 Georgia Tech (26-6) tonight at 5 p.m. CT at Russ Chandler Stadium.

The game will be broadcast on the Auburn Sports Network and can be heard locally on Wings 94.3 FM. It will also be streamed digitally on ACC Network Extra.

The Irreplaceable Dyl. Nicknamed “The Jumbrotron Man” for the energy and spirit he infused into the student section at Auburn Football games at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn MBB’s Dylan Cardwell also lit up with the hardwood with his performance and personality. While we know how we feel about him, his tearful goodbye message shows that the feelings are mutual.

It’d be hard to phrase it better than X user “The Auburn Man,” who left this comment below the video:

“There have been athletes come through Auburn that the fans flock to. They are talked about and loved indefinitely not only their for success in sports but also because of their personality and spirit. People like Lutz, Beasley, and Spikes. Add @Dylanupnext__ to that list.”
