Bodda Getta Brew 4/4: Final Four Fame + Free Grub

Auburn MBB coach Bruce Pearl said that his team does not want this to end, and they want more NCAA tournament "shining moments" ... and free breakfast for Dylan.

Good Morning, Auburn Family. Dylan Cardwell, the winningest player in Auburn MBB program history, made it clear that reaching the Final Four is not the ultimate objective.

“We’re focused on winning it all,” Cardwell said. “Getting here is cool, but we came here for one goal and one goal only, the national championship.”

Cardwell’s now-famous pep talk helped inspire Auburn’s march to the national semifinals after an uneven performance in the Tigers’ 83-63 victory over Alabama State in the round of 64.

“This is it. We're running out of one shining moments,” head coach Bruce Pearl said. “We do it now, or like Dylan Cardwell said, this is the last free breakfast. We want Dylan to continue to eat free.”

In the first meeting between SEC opponents at the Final Four, Auburn (32-5) plays Florida (34-4) tomorrow at 5:09 p.m. CT on CBS and the Auburn Sports Network.

Auburn sophomore Anna Davis carded a 36-hole score of 2-under (142) to make the cut on Thursday at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia. Davis is one of 32 players in the 72-player field who have earned the opportunity to compete in the final round at historic Augusta National Golf Club on Saturday.

Davis has now made the cut for the second time in four appearances at the event, the last being in 2022 when she won the tournament at age 16 before her time on the Plains. 🔼 Hall of Future Fame. Yes, we have MORE Auburn MBB news, but this time it’s about next season! The squad has added UCF transfer Keyshawn Hall to next year’s roster.

The 6-foot-7, 235-pound forward averaged 18.8 points, 7.1 rebound and 2.4 assists per game for the Knights this past season. One of the top players in the Big 12 Conference, Hall was an all-conference second team and all-newcomer team selection. He registered a career-high 40 points, seven rebounds and six assists against Arizona State in league play.

🔼 Let’s Do This. The No. 15 Auburn gymnastics team kicks off the NCAA portion of the postseason this weekend, traveling to Seattle, Washington, for the 2025 NCAA Washington Regional for a three-day meet.

The Tigers will kick things off in the NCAA Regional Second Round tonight, competing in the night session at 9 p.m. CT against No. 1 seed Oklahoma, Nebraska and Illinois. 🗣 : “Anything can happen. A lot of our team has never been through this before, which is good to have a fresh start. We just need to keep our head on straight and do our thing.” - Jeff Graba, head coach

🔼 Seeking Postseason Six. The Auburn men’s golf team winds down the 2025 regular season with its penultimate event, the Mason Rudolph Championship, today through Sunday, in Franklin, Tennessee. Due to flooding in the area, the tournament will commence with an 11 a.m. CT shotgun start today. Teams are set for continuous play, aiming to get in as many holes as possible each day.

“We’re playing to find our postseason six,” Tigers head coach Nick Clinard said. “We’re in that stretch of the season where six guys have to step up and prove that they have the mental, physical and emotional ability to represent Auburn when a championship is on the line.”

🔼 It’s a Marathon, Not a … Eh, Never Mind. The Auburn track & field team travels to Florida to compete at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville today and tomorrow. Action starts this morning 10 a.m. CT with the women’s hammer and picks back up Saturday with men’s discus at 8 a.m.

It is going to be a weekend full of stiff competition, as the Tigers battle against NR/ No. 9 Baylor, NR/ No. 6 Georgia, Mississippi State, No. 1/3 Texas A&M, South Carolina, No. 10/NR South Florida and host Florida.

The women’s sprint team highlighted the team’s performance at the recent Terry Long FSU Relays with four first place finishes.

🔼 Tiger Tennis Travels. The No. 9 women’s tennis team is set to play Kentucky today at 4 p.m. CT in Lexington and No. 6 Tennessee on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Knoxville. The Tigers are coming off a split weekend, falling at home to No. 10 Oklahoma before securing a road win over Arkansas.

Auburn enters the weekend with an 18-5 overall record and a 7-4 mark in SEC play, tied for the sixth-best record in the conference. The top four teams in the SEC standings will earn a double bye at the SEC Championship later this month.

🔼 Keep Your Enemies Closer. Returning to Plainsman Park for its first home series in three weeks, No. 14 Auburn (20-9, 4-5 SEC) is set to square off with archrival No. 8 Alabama (26-4, 6-3 SEC) today through Sunday. First pitches are scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. CT, Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

🗣 : “Every team gives us an opportunity with us still having above a .500 record versus top-25 teams in the country. That’s all we’re going to get moving forward. We have to embrace that.” - Butch Thompson, head coach
