Good Morning, Auburn Family. The Auburn men’s tennis team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Columbus Regional in Columbus, Ohio. The Tigers have now earned a bid to the NCAA Championship in four consecutive seasons.

Auburn will face Belmont in the first round on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT. If the Tigers win on Saturday, they will advance to face the winner of Ohio State and Buffalo in the round of 32 match on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.

🔼 It’s a Go at Yarbrough. The No. 7 Auburn women’s tennis team has been selected to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. The Tigers will enter the tournament as the ninth overall seed, the highest in program history.

Auburn will face South Carolina State in the first round on Friday at 1 p.m. CT. If the Tigers win on Friday, they will advance to face the winner of Clemson and Wisconsin in the round of 32 match on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.

🔼 Monstrous On the Mound. Behind six near-perfect innings from freshman Christian Chatteron, No. 5 Auburn turned in its fourth shutout of the season, defeating Samford 3-0 Tuesday night at the Hoover Met.

Chatterton and fellow freshman Andreas Alvarez combined to pitch eight of the nine innings and racked up 13 strikeouts compared to just one walk, while Ryan Hetzler earned his team-best sixth save of the season.

🔼 More SJ Success From the Circle. After helping Auburn to a pair of one-hit victories and a series win versus No. 13 South Carolina, SJ Geurin has been selected as SEC Pitcher of the Week.  

The Leander, Texas, native was virtually untouchable in the circle for the Tigers. Making an appearance in all four of Auburn’s contests last week, Geurin allowed just one run in 13.1 innings of work to record a 0.53 earned run average. She also combined for a one-hit shutout with Haley Rainey in Auburn’s midweek win at South Alabama last Wednesday. 

🔼 A-OKay. Given the choice of doing standard or modified pushups, Angella Okutoyi chose the former.

When Okutoyi’s Billie Jean King Cup captain suggested the team make pushups part of their training regimen, her teammates wanted to do the modified version.

“I was like, ‘No guys, we should not do that,’” Okutoyi recalled. “’We should do the actual ones. We should show no weakness right now.’ Then everyone did it.”

A hashtag was born.

“When we are down, we all see the negative part instead of the positive part,” she said. “Every time I’m down, I tell myself it’s not time to show weakness now. You should show strength.”

🔼 Fab Foursome. Auburn golf’s Anna Davis, Carson Bacha, Josiah Gilbert and Jackson Koivun have been selected to represent Team USA in the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup, set for June 5-7 in Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Men’s golf head coach Nick Clinard will lead the United States side as one of its two head coaches.

Auburn’s four invitees tie the record for most same-year selections to Team USA from a single school in Palmer Cup history. The feat had only been accomplished twice prior, first by Vanderbilt in 2019 and then by Stanford in 2022.
