Having won its three previous home series in conference play, No. 11 Auburn (28-13, 9-9 SEC) hosts Mississippi State (24-17, 6-12 SEC) in a three-game series at Plainsman Park this weekend. First pitches are scheduled for tonight and tomorrow at 6 p.m. CT and Sunday at 2 p.m. CT.

🔼 Just Plain Good Golf. A perfectly-crafted 5-under 65 from senior Carson Bacha propelled Auburn men’s golf to a 10-under second round Thursday at the SEC Championship on St. Simons Island, Georgia.

Through 36 holes, No. 1 Auburn stands tied for first place with No. 7 LSU at 26-under-par. The Tigers made just five bogeys over the entirety of Thursday’s round.

Clinard’s crew sits 21 shots clear of the projected cutline ahead of Friday’s final round of stroke play. Bacha was one of three Auburn men to go bogey-free on the day. He added five birdies on holes 2, 4, 6, 7 and 15 to lead the lineup.

🔼 Tennis Talent Times Two. Auburn freshman men’s tennis player Alex Frusina has been named second team All-SEC as well as to the SEC All-Freshman team. Frusina’s All-SEC selection marks the 58^th in program history. Auburn has now had an All-SEC player each of the last five seasons.

In his first season on the Plains, Frusina has made an impact as the Tigers’ regular at the No. 2 position in both singles and doubles this season. Frusina is 20-11 overall in singles this season and 15-8 in dual matches between the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions. The freshman has earned three ranked singles victories this season.

🔼 Softball But Make It a Reunion. In its final Southeastern Conference series of the season, Auburn softball (28-20, 4-17 SEC) welcomes No. 13 South Carolina (35-11, 10-8 SEC) to Jane B. Moore Field for a three-game series.

The series begins tonight at 5 p.m. CT. Saturday’s contest is set for 2 p.m. CT. Sunday’s series finale is slated for 1 p.m. CT. The Tigers will honor alums on Saturday in a pre-game ceremony. As part of the ceremony, Auburn will honor the 2015 team for its 10-year anniversary of winning the program’s first SEC Tournament title and advancing to the program’s first Women’s College World Series.

🔼 And It’s Goooonnnneee! ICYMI! With the game scoreless through seven innings behind dominant pitching performances on both sides, Auburn softball used a Nelia Peralta home run in the eighth to secure a 1-0 win over South Alabama Wednesday night at Jaguar Field.

The Tigers have been selected to participate in the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in Gold Canyon, Arizona, as the 3-seed. The regional, hosted by Arizona State, will take place May 5-May 7.
