🔼 Bigger & Better. The Auburn Board of Trustees approved the Jordan-Hare North Project, a significant capital project for Auburn Athletics and Jordan-Hare Stadium. The project, set for completion in spring 2029, will include premium seating, expanded dining options, and versatile event spaces, enhancing the student experience and gameday atmosphere. The project also introduces the “Ever Auburn” fundraising campaign, inspired by a quote from former Auburn University President Dr. Ralph Brown Draughon.
🔼 Had A-Day. Auburn concluded spring practice with the first A-Day scrimmage under new head coach Alex Golesh. The offense outscored the defense 66-43 in a scrimmage that emphasized physicality and team building. Freshman receiver DeShawn Spencer and sophomore edge Jared Smith were named offensive and defensive MVPs, respectively.
🔼 Title Sweep! The third-ranked women’s tennis team claimed its first-ever SEC Tournament title yesterday! They defeated No. 15 LSU in a close 4-3 match as freshman Eva Ionescu secured the win at the No. 6 position. The Tigers will learn their NCAA Championship fate on April 27.
🔼 Chomped 'Em. No. 6 Auburn baseball took two to win the series on the road at No. 7 Florida! The Tigers lost two starters due to injury and had four freshmen on the field to win 5-3 on Friday. Auburn defeated Florida 8-5 in the series finale, marking their first series win in Gainesville since 2013. After falling behind early, Auburn rallied with a five-run ninth inning, highlighted by a home run from Mason McCraine. Alex Petrovic pitched seven strong innings, allowing only three runs after a first-inning home run.
🔼 Moving On. Auburn women’s golf advanced to the match play portion of the SEC Championship, finishing fourth in stroke play. Led by freshman Charlotte Cantonis, who finished sixth, the Tigers will face Ole Miss in the quarterfinals today.
🔼 Dominant Weekend. Auburn track and field had a successful weekend, breaking multiple school records and achieving numerous personal bests. Max Hardin broke the men’s 1500m record, Megan Hague shattered the women’s shot put record, and Sophia Mazzoni matched her freshman record in the women’s javelin. The team also secured 16 podium finishes and six NCAA top-10 marks.
