The Flight - Baseball (S. 2, Ep. 3)
It’s rivalry week on the Plains as Auburn hosts Alabama and LSU at Plainsman Park, with a midweek trip to Georgia Tech in between. Plus, meet the Dutton brothers — two Southside, Alabama natives whose college journeys began on different paths but ultimately brought them back together at Auburn.

🔼 Like Herding Cats. Men’s tennis won a thrilling match over Kentucky by a 4-3 score in its first match of the SEC Championship on Thursday afternoon at the Carolina Tennis Center in Columbia, South Carolina. With the victory, the Tigers advance to the quarterfinals of the event and will face No. 4 Texas at 1 p.m. CT.

🔼 Golf’s One-Two Punch. Auburn men’s golfers Jackson Koivun and Brendan Valdes have been named top 10 semifinalists for the 2025 Ben Hogan Award, which annually honors the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months.
Koivun is the reigning Hogan Award winner after becoming just the second freshman to receive the honor after Rickie Fowler (2008).

🔼 The Tigers Have Entered the Chat. The No. 6 Women’s tennis team will begin its run at the 2025 SEC Championship on today at 3 p.m. CT against Vanderbilt. Auburn is hosting the championship for the first time since 2008.
The Tigers will enter the championship as winners of their last five matches and a 22-5 overall record. Auburn recorded an 11-4 record in conference matches this season, which earned the team a 4-seed in the SEC Championship after tiebreakers were enforced. The Tigers moved up two spots from the previous week’s ITA National Team Rankings to No. 6 on Tuesday.

🔼 Bum Luck. The Auburn softball (27-18, 4-15 SEC) team and No. 4 Tennessee (35-9, 10-6 SEC) were tied in a 2-2 game heading into the seventh inning, but the Lady Vols knocked a walk-off home run Thursday to take game one of the series 4-2.
🗣 “Everyone was working ahead in the count. I am proud of our pitchers for throwing well. Malayna (Tamborra) had a great start. It’s just tough luck. Chris Malveaux, co-head coach
The Tigers look to even up the series tonight at 5 p.m. CT.

🔼 That’s a Wrap. Sophomore Olivia Greaves and fifth year Gabby McLaughlin represented Auburn gymnastics at the 2025 NCAA Championships Thursday as individuals, concluding the season at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.
Greaves competed on bars and finished with a 9.7875 in the second rotation of the afternoon session. McLaughlin went on beam in the third rotation and unfortunately had to count a fall for a 9.175.
“I’m really happy with how the season finished up,” head coach Jeff Graba said. “It’s always tough to be an individual in this meet, but they kept their heads on straight and represented us extremely well.”

🔼 New Man On the Block. Auburn MBB inked JUCO big man Emeka Opurum (pronounced UHH-MECK-UHH OHH-POUR-umm) on Thursday.
The 7-foot, 210-pound center is a transfer from Butler Community College. This gives the Tigers a size advantage in their frontcourt next season as Opurum joins Mississippi State transfer KeShawn Murphy, who is 6-foot-10.
Opurum made 87 blocks in 33 games played for the Grizzlies. He also averaged 9.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.

🔼 Let’s Take Two. The Auburn baseball team went toe to toe with Texas in Thursday’s game but came up just short.
The Tigers will look to even the score tonight at 6 p.m. CT.

🔼 Dog-Eat-Dog Day. The No. 2 Auburn equestrian team dropped a 13-4 contest to No. 7 Georgia at the 2025 NCEA Championships, falling to the Bulldogs in the quarterfinals Thursday at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.
The Tigers (11-4) saw winning rides from upperclassmen as fifth year Ellie Ferrigno went undefeated, junior Alexia Tordoff won her Horsemanship point and sophomore Avery Glynn picked up a win in Fences.
