Olivia Greaves and Gabby McLaughlin will represent Auburn gymnastics at the 2025 NCAA Championships today in Fort Worth, Texas.

Good Morning, Auburn Family. Sophomore Olivia Greaves and fifth year Gabby McLaughlin will conclude the 2025 season today as the pair will represent Auburn gymnastics at the 2025 NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas. Greaves will compete on bars and McLaughlin will go on beam in the afternoon session in Dickies Arena.

Greaves earned a spot at the national meet following an outstanding performance in the second semifinal of the 2025 Seattle Regional on April 4. McLaughlin secured her beam spot after finishing sixth in the event in the regional semifinal two weeks ago.

🔼 Next Opponent, Please. No. 6 Auburn (27-10, 9-6 SEC) readies for its fourth straight top-10 opponent with a three-game series at No. 1 Texas (30-5, 13-2 SEC) today through Saturday in Austin, Texas. First pitches at UFCU Disch-Falk Field are scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. CT, Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 12 p.m.

🗣 “A busy week got off to a good start last night,” head coach Butch Thompson said of the win over Jax State. “We’re getting to play the No. 1 team in America. This is probably the most sound team we’ve played from a preparation standpoint.”

🔼 The Malveauxs Know. Looking to make it three consecutive SEC series wins, Auburn softball’s (27-17, 4-14 SEC) final road conference test of the season comes at No. 4 Tennessee (34-9, 9-6 SEC) as the Tigers trek to Sherri Parker Lee Stadium for a three-game series. The series beings tonight with a 5 p.m. CT first pitch. Game two is set for tomorrow at 5 p.m. CT. Saturday’s finale is slated for a 1 p.m. CT first pitch. 

Co-head softball coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux spent three seasons at Tennessee, helping the Lady Vols to back-to-back SEC regular season titles in 2023 and 2024 before taking the head coaching position at Auburn. 

🔼 The Meet Of the Matter. Auburn track & field will split its squad between the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, today and tomorrow (April 17-18), and the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville, Florida, Friday and Saturday (April 18-19).  

Running events from Kentner Stadium in Winston-Salem begin this morning at 7:20 p.m. CT with the women’s 5k, while action from Gainesville on the Percy Beard Track begins Friday at 11 a.m. with men’s hammer throw. As the team heads into the backend of the season, the women are ranked 18th in the most recent USTFCCCA poll.

🔼 Lot On the Line. The Auburn men’s tennis team—which just ended its regular season on a high note with road wins over Tulane and LSU—begins its quest for the 2025 SEC Championship today at the Carolina Tennis Center in Columbia, South Carolina. Auburn, the 8-seed, will face 9-seed Kentucky at 1 p.m. CT in the second round of the championship after receiving a first-round bye.

If Auburn wins today, they will face 1-seed Texas at 1 p.m. CT in the quarterfinals tomorrow. If the Tigers defeat the Longhorns, the semifinal match will be played on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT and Sunday’s final match is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT.

🔼 Hoop Scoop. One of the top junior college players in the country, Abdul Bashir is the latest transfer to sign with the Auburn men’s basketball program on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-7, 180-pound forward recently finished out his sophomore campaign at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming, where he averaged 27.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game for the Thunderbirds.

“Abdul is a special talent,” head coach Bruce Pearl said. “If he can see it, he can make it.”


🔼 No Dog ‘N’ Pony Show. The No. 2 Auburn equestrian team will close out the 2024-25 season at the 2025 National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championships today through Saturday, April 17-19, in Ocala, Florida, at the World Equestrian Center. Fans can find all things nationals, including live scoring links, live stream links, schedule of events and results HERE.

The Tigers (11-3) are the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will face No. 7 seed Georgia, April 17 at 1:30 p.m. CT. The squad has their eyes on the program’s seventh national crown this week.
