Good Morning, Auburn Family. Behind a strong pitching effort from Haley Rainey, Auburn softball opened Wednesday’s doubleheader at Jane B. Moore Field with a 6-1 win over UAB, but the Blazers capitalized on Tiger miscues in game two for a 4-3 win to split the twin billing.

Rainey (4-3) tossed six innings and allowed just one run to help the Tigers cruise to a 6-1 win in Wednesday’s opening contest. She scattered four hits and a walk to keep the Blazer offense quiet. Icess Tresvik came up big with a 2-for-2 effort with two RBI in the game.

Auburn’s A-Day Weekend on The Plains will feature a full weekend of activities on the Auburn campus including Auburn football practice inside Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, a post-practice Fan Day autograph session along with Auburn baseball, softball and women’s tennis all at home.

Jordan-Hare Stadium gates will open on A-Day at 11 a.m. CT with an alumni flag football game starting at 11 am. Tiger Walk at 11:30 a.m. starting from the bottom of Donahue Drive by the Wellness Kitchen. A-Day practice will start at 12 p.m. with practice concluding at 1 p.m.
