Good Morning, Auburn Family. “It means everything,” Auburn MBB’s Miles Kelly, an Atlanta native, said Thursday, flanked by teammates Johni Broome and Dylan Cardwell at the NCAA Tournament press conference of the impending homecoming. “This is a full circle moment for me to be in March Madness, Sweet 16, and come to Atlanta and play and have a chance to go to the Elite Eight and Final Four in Atlanta.”

🔼 The Best By Leaps and Bounds. Auburn track & field sophomore and reigning NCAA Indoor 60m hurdles champion Ja’Kobe Tharp remains on the prestigious Post-NCAA Indoors Bowerman Watch List.
The Bowerman debuted in 2009 and is awarded to the country’s best male and female track & field athletes at the conclusion of the season. This is the fourth consecutive Bowerman Watch List Tharp has been listed on in the 2025 season. He made his debut on the watch during the 2024 outdoor season on May 16.

🔼 Yes, They’re On the High Horse. The No. 1 Auburn equestrian team opens the postseason this weekend, competing at the 2025 SEC Championship held in Mill Spring, North Carolina. The two-day meet will run today and tomorrow and is hosted by the University of Georgia.
The Tigers (11-2) are the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will face No. 4 seed South Carolina today at 2 p.m. CT. The first semifinal will feature No. 2 seed Georgia and No. 3 seed Texas A&M at 9 a.m. CT. The winner of both match ups will go head-to-head in the championship meet tomorrow at 9 a.m. CT.

🔼 Tumbling Towards Greatness. Senior Sophia Groth of the No. 15 Auburn gymnastics team was named to the SEC Community Service Team for the third-straight year.
In addition to this honor, Groth was placed on the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team earlier this month and was named team captain, becoming the first female student-athlete to lead the distinguished group. The two-time All-American and 2025 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year has spent three years as part of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is currently president for the 2024-25 school year.

Broome recently set the single-season rebounding record with 352 boards to date, breaking Korvotney Barber’s old mark of 347 rebounds in 2008-09.
