Bodda Getta Brew 3/26: A-Day With Some Twists
Auburn’s A-Day will have a new look in 2025, as the annual event will feature free admission and a post-practice autograph session inside Jordan-Hare.
Good Morning, Auburn Family. Auburn’s A-Day, taking place on Saturday, April 12, will have a new look, as the Tigers’ annual event will feature free admission and a post-practice autograph session inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. Unlike prior years where a score was kept, this year’s A-Day will look more like a traditional practice.
The post-practice Fan Day autograph session featuring head coach Hugh Freeze and Auburn players will take place on Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium in lieu of a Fan Day in August during fall camp.

🔼 Rinse and Repeat. Auburn’s Johni Broome is one of the best men’s college basketball players to comprise this year’s list of finalists vying to earn the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy, annually identifying the nation’s top player.
Broome along with finalists Walter Clayton, Jr. of Florida, Cooper Flagg of Duke and Braden Smith of Purdue have led their teams to be among the best in the country and into the NCAA Tournament, and they have consistently proven throughout this season that they have earned the title of Naismith Trophy Finalist in 2025. Many have been named finalists previously in their college or high school careers.

The Tigers offense totaled 14 hits with four players collecting two or more. The top of the lineup in Eric Snow, Irish and Cooper McMurray along with eight-hole hitter Cade Belyeu accounted for 11 of the team’s 14 hits.

🔼 Davis Does It Again. Auburn sophomore Anna Davis took home the individual title after carding a final round 64 (-6) at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Davis won the event by one stroke with a 54-hole score of 201 (-9), which set the record for lowest in program history. As a team, the No. 19 Tigers shot 278 (-2) in the final round and finished the tournament at 6-over (846).
The win marks the third collegiate title of Davis’ career, as she was the NCAA Auburn Regional low medalist last season and won the Illini Invitational at Medinah earlier this season.

🔼 It’s Time to Talk Football. Before Hugh Freeze talked about Auburn football, he congratulated baseball coach Butch Thompson for win No. 300 at Auburn, he welcomed new women’s basketball coach Larry Vickers, and he congratulated Bruce Pearl and the men’s basketball program for advancing to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
“I look forward to being there Friday night,” Freeze said of No. 1 overall seed Auburn’s 8:39 p.m. CT tipoff against Michigan in the South Regional semifinals in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. “Proud of them and can’t wait to see them compete this weekend.”
Speaking of competing, Auburn participated in its first full-pads practice Tuesday morning, its fourth spring workout, with new quarterbacks Jackson Arnold, a junior, and freshman Deuce Knight.

🔼 Koivun Cleans Up. Auburn sophomore Jackson Koivun shot 11-under to earn the 14th top-five finish of his young career and lead the top-ranked Tigers to a fifth-place outing Tuesday at The Valspar Collegiate in Palm City, Florida. Koivun cruised to a fourth-place finish by way of 64-72-66 (-11) scorecards. He made 13 birdies and two eagles, one of which was an ace on the par-3 8th during Tuesday’s final round.
Auburn concluded the tournament just three strokes back of second place.

🔼 He’s More Than Kenough. Yes, we’ve been itching to use that headline. Auburn men’s track and field assistant coach Ken Harnden was selected as the 2025 Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Assistant Coach of the Year. Member coaches voted on the honors following the conclusion of the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
In his third year at Auburn, Harnden led the Tigers to third place overall using four scorers on the men’s team to combine for 32 points. Six men earned All-America honors after the indoor championships, four of which were first-team distinctions.

🔼 Just Keep Swimming. One week after the women wrapped up their venture in Federal Way, Washington, it’s the men’s turn to take on the NCAA Championships as seven Auburn swimmers and two divers prepare for the competition, running today through Saturday, March 26-29. The action begins today with the 200 medley and 800 free relays, and the meet will be streamed live all week long on ESPN+.
Head coach Ryan Wochomurka and Co. are coming off an eighth-place finish at last month’s SEC Championships.

🔼 Tigers > Trojans. The No. 25 Auburn softball (21-11) team continues its four-game road swing as the Tigers trek to Troy (21-12) for a midweek date tonight. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT., and the contest is available on ESPN+.
Auburn has won 14 of the least 15 meetings versus the Trojans, including 13 consecutive wins. The two squads last met on March 5 at Jane B. Moore Field. The Tigers used a 12-run fourth frame to take down the Trojans 12-2.
