Right-handed pitcher Andreas Alvarez has been named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week after his pair of relief appearances in wins last week.
Good Morning, Auburn Family. Right-handed pitcher Andreas Alvarez has been named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week after his pair of relief appearances in wins last week.
It marks the third time through five weeks this season that an Auburn freshman has earned the distinction after Bub Terrell and Chris Rembert also received the recognition.
After making midweek starts the first three weeks of the season, Alvarez was moved to a relief role to open SEC play and turned in a combined 6.0 scoreless innings in wins against UT Martin and No. 13 Vanderbilt.

🔼 And Now It’s Time For a Breakdown. Auburn won its seventh straight series dating back to the final two series of last season with a pair of wins against No. 13 Vanderbilt. The seven straight series wins are the most since winning seven straight series to begin the 2017 season. It also marked the team’s first SEC series opening win since 2019 after playing the No. 4, No. 1, No. 3 and No. 8 teams in the country to open league play the last four conference seasons. The Tigers improved to 4-1 vs. ranked opponents this season with the series win against the Commodores.
