Bodda Getta Brew 3/10: We're Rubber, You're Glue
Sunday's rubber game went to the Auburn baseball team, as the squad's 7-3 win over Old Dominion clinched the series.
Good Morning, Auburn Family. No. 20 Auburn responded from Friday night’s loss with a 7-3 win to clinch the series against Old Dominion Sunday afternoon at Plainsman Park, marking the Tigers’ fourth straight winning non-conference weekend to start the season.
Christian Chatterton (2-0) turned in his longest outing of the season and earned his second straight win. The freshman right hander allowed just one unearned run on three hits with one walk and six strikeouts in 5.2 innings, marking his third straight start in which he has allowed just one run.

🔼 Date Change and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! Auburn football’s 2025 home opener at Baylor, originally schedule for Saturday, August 30, will now be played on Friday, August 29, at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas. The game will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the Tigers and Bears.
The 2025 Auburn football schedule can be found here. Kickoff on the Plains will be on Saturday, Sept. 6, when the Tigers host Ball State at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

🔼 Sunday Softball Setback. No. 17 Auburn softball (20-3, 0-2 SEC) battled late but No. 21 Mississippi State (20-3, 2-0 SEC) countered each Tiger response to clinch the series with a 9-4 win Sunday night at Nusz Park.
Icess Tresvik led the Tigers at the plate with a 2-for-4 night. Her highlight reel also included a home run rob in the first inning. KK McCrary knocked her fourth home run of the season, adding two RBI. Kyla Stroud recorded the first hit of her collegiate career with a pinch-hit single in the sixth to drive in a pair of runs while AnnaLea Adams extended her hit streak to nine consecutive games.

🔼 Advantage Auburn. No. 11 Women’s tennis recorded its fourth win over a top 10 team this season on Sunday afternoon, defeating ninth-ranked Texas by a 4-3 score at the Yarbrough Tennis Center. Sunday’s match marked just the fourth time the two programs had faced each other and the first win for Auburn in the short all-time series.
“In the context of our season and for the history of the program, it's a big win,” Auburn head coach Jordan Szabo said after the win. “Texas is one of the best teams in the country.

🔼 Talan Ticket Punched and More. Three days of the 2025 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships still remain but the Auburn Tigers are already off to a blistering start. Taking full advantage of his home pool, a fourth-place finish in the 1-meter competition on Sunday earned sophomore Talan Blackmon a trip to his first NCAA Championships.
Freshman Ethan Swart can also add 1-meter to his NCAA resume after finishing 12th. The Indiana native only needs a top-eight finish in the 3-meter or top seven on the platform.

🔼 The Life Equine. The No. 1 Auburn equestrian team closed out the 2024-25 regular season with a 11-9 road win over No. 4 Texas A&M Saturday afternoon.
Auburn (11-2, 5-1 SEC) had three Most Outstanding Performer honors on the day. Freshman Kate Hagerty was honored in Fences, while fifth year Ellie Ferrigno took the award for Flat. Junior Alexia Tordoff picked up MOP in Horsemanship.

🔼 Broome Bids Adieu to Neville. In his Neville Arena finale, All-American Johni Broome scored a career-high 34 points, but Mark Sears beat the buzzer with a jumper from the free-throw line to give No. 7 Alabama a 93-91 win Saturday on Senior Day at Neville Arena.
“Those are two teams capable of getting to the Final Four,” Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said. “Both teams stepped up in a lot of ways and played great basketball. Johni demonstrated to the country why he should be the national player of the year.”

🔼 The Math Isn’t Mathing. The No. 13 Auburn gymnastics team picked up its second-highest road score of the season Sunday afternoon, earning a 197.125. Host and No. 7 Missouri won the meet with a 198.100.
A handful of Tigers reached or tied career bests. Highlighting the day was fifth year Gabby McLaughlin, who won beam with a 9.975, earning a 10.0 from one judge and tying a career high.
