🎥 WAREAGLE+: THE FLIGHT

The Flight - Men's Basketball (S. 2, Ep. 5)
Auburn's tough season continues with the first ever SEC match up featuring the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the nation, and it also happens to be against Alabama. Plus, you’ll see a special surprise for a young fan, and two physical games against teams fighting for their postseason future.

🔼 Mazara Goes Mad (In the Best Way). Moments after Auburn won the SEC Tournament championship last March, Chad Baker-Mazara sat on the court at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and sobbed. He was on FaceTime with his family in the Dominican Republic.

“It was an experience of a lifetime because my dad always dreamed of me playing in the SEC,” Baker-Mazara said.

Baker-Mazara’s father, Derrek, played basketball at South Carolina State from 1984-85, and it’s been one of Chad’s main goals to follow in his dad’s footsteps and take it a little further than he did.

Go here for more on Baker-Mazara’s breakthrough season, his love for the Auburn fans and his desire for another March Madness opportunity.

🔼 Desert Showdown. Building off its momentum of playing and assembling the toughest schedule in program history in 2024-25, Auburn men’s basketball has signed a home-and-home series with another perennial powerhouse program in Arizona.

The Tigers will travel to Tucson for a showdown in the desert on Dec. 6, 2025, at the McKale Center, with the return game in Auburn still TBD.

🏀 : MORE DETAILS

The Tigers will enter the weekend with a 12-1 overall record and winners of three straight matches. On Sunday, Auburn opened conference play with a 5-2 victory over Florida at home in a match that lasted nearly four hours. The win marked the fourth win over the Gators in program history.

🔼 If Anyone Can, Zancan. When Tony Zancan came from Maryland to the Plains to study aviation, Auburn got a two for one.

Two siblings, both with a passion for flight. Tony in an airplane, his sister Paige in Neville Arena, where she soars for Auburn’s gymnastics program.

“When I went down to move him in, I instantly fell in love with the school,” recalled Paige, then a high school freshman. “From then on, I knew it was my dream school.”

Back pains during her junior year of high school forced Paige to occasionally miss meets or scratch events, limiting her recruiting opportunities.

Read more to find out why Auburn gymnastics coach Jeff Graba says he “stole” her during the recruiting process, how she “cracked the code” on the double handspring vault and her goals for the team.

🔼 Have Gloves, Will Travel. After a nine-game homestand to start the season, No. 25 Auburn hits the road to compete in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series. The Tigers (7-1) will take on Ohio State (1-5) Friday at 3 p.m. CT, No. 8 Oregon State (5-2) Saturday at 6 p.m. and Baylor (7-1) Sunday at 3 p.m.

“These will be three teams that will absolutely give us a dress rehearsal of what it’s going to be like on the road playing in our league,” head coach Butch Thompson said.

🔼 SEC-Ya There. The Auburn men’s tennis team is set to play its first three home matches in SEC play over the weekend, hosting Vanderbilt today at 2 p.m. CT, Georgia at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday and Tennessee State at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Auburn will enter the weekend with a 7-2 overall record while holding an ITA national team ranking of No. 45 as of the latest rankings that were released on Tuesday.

Freshman Alex Frusina has solidified himself at the No. 2 singles position and holds a 7-1 dual match singles record this spring.

🔼 Save the Last Chance. Representing the final opportunity for Auburn student-athletes to claim qualifying times for the NCAA Championships, head coach Ryan Wochomurka and the Tigers are set to host the Last Chance Invite today through Saturday (Feb. 28 – March 1). The team is coming off the heels of the SEC Championships where the men finished eighth with 554.5 points and the women ninth at 524.5 points.

Prelims this morning begin at 10 a.m. CT with finals slated for 5 p.m. CT. Saturday’s prelims are scheduled for 10 a.m. CT and finals are set for 3 p.m. CT.

🔼 The Jungle Reputation Precedes Itself. The No. 11 Auburn gymnastics team returns home tonight to welcome SEC newcomer and No. 1 Oklahoma to the Plains for the first time since 2010, with the two teams facing off at 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network+. The Tigers are expecting the Auburn crowd to bring the energy.

"Every SEC program has something that makes it extremely difficult to win on the road and ours is the Jungle, the Gymnastys and our whole fan base,” head coach Jeff Graba said. “Neville Arena is the hardest place to compete, and we hope the Jungle shows up and takes control."
