Bodda Getta Brew 2/24: Tigers MBB Downs the Dawgs
Johni Broome played a starring role in leading the Tigers to an 82-70 wire-to-wire victory Saturday at Neville Arena.
Good Morning, Auburn Family. After missing No. 1 Auburn’s first matchup with Georgia five weeks earlier, Johni Broome played a starring role in the sequel, leading the Tigers to an 82-70 wire-to-wire victory Saturday at Neville Arena.
Broome dominated in the second half, scoring 19 of his season-high 31 points while making all seven shots from the field, grabbing eight of his game-high 14 rebounds and recording all four of his assists.
With two weeks remaining in the regular season, Auburn enjoys a two-game lead in its quest for a fifth SEC championship in the past eight seasons under head coach Bruce Pearl.
🗣 “Beating Georgia matters to Auburn,” Pearl said. “It matters to me. That’s 13 out of 16, and that’s a pretty good stretch against one of your rivals.”

🔼 Baseball, Bombs and Brooms 🧹. No. 25 Auburn hit four home runs and led from start to finish to secure its series sweep of Wright State with a 9-4 win Sunday afternoon at Plainsman Park.
Along with the season-high four home runs, all nine players in the lineup recorded a hit for the second time in three games this weekend. Five players in Eric Snow, Ike Irish, Cooper McMurray, Cole Edwards and Chase Fralick collected multiple hits.

🔼 History Made. Well, HERstory.
No. 11 Auburn gymnastics started out fast and never let up, scoring a season-high 197.750 Friday night to outdistance No. 17 Alabama (197.350) and earn the program’s first victory at Coleman Coliseum.
The overall team score of 197.750 tied the program best road score and was the team’s highest score of the 2025 season. In addition, it stands tied for fifth overall in program history. On top of that, the team tied a program record on vault with a 49.500. The Tigers set a season high on bars with a 49.425 to lead off the meet.

🔼 A-Squared in Dramatic Fashion. Earning the first start of her career, freshman AnnaLea Adams came up with the walk-off hit to complete No. 17 Auburn’s 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Jacksonville State Sunday at Toyota Field.
Jaliyah Holmes retired the first 11 batters she faced in order before Anna Wohlers came up with the first Auburn hit of the game, a solo blast to cut the Gamecock lead to 2-1.

🔼 All Good Things Come to Those Who Wait … And Sweat. No. 4 Auburn persevered over Florida in a match that lasted nearly four hours to begin SEC play 1-0 on Sunday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
