Auburn senior guard Denver Jones garners SEC Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Good Morning, Auburn Family. For the first time of his career, Auburn senior guard Denver Jones garnered SEC Player of the Week honors after an impressive week on both ends of the floor by leading No. 1 Auburn (23-2, 11-1 SEC) to road wins at Vanderbilt and at No. 2 Alabama.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound senior guard averaged a team-leading 18.5 points per game against the Commodores and Crimson Tide combined.
One of the top defensive players in the country, Jones also limited the opposing teams’ leading scorers to a combined 9-of-28 (32.1 percent) shooting from the field and 3-of-16 (18.8 percent) from 3-point range.

🎥 WAREAGLE+: TALKING TIGERS

Talking Tigers - Bryant Smith
Bryant Smith’s choices coming out of high school were Syracuse, Michigan, Tennessee and Auburn. When he strolled through Toomer’s Corner on his official visit, he knew where he was going to play basketball. Smith was a captain on Auburn’s 1999 SEC Championship team.
After a 14-year pro career overseas, he returned to Huntsville and started the Winning Foundation, a non-profit helping at risk kids. Today he serves as a graduate assistant with his alma mater. Bryant Smith is featured in this Talking Tigers Podcast.

🔼 The Notebook … Not That Notebook. The Tigers opened the 2025 season at a newly-renovated Plainsman Park and immediately set a single-game attendance record of 5,718 on Opening Night.
Auburn’s 14 runs in the series finale were the most since scoring 24 runs in game three vs. Austin Peay on Mar. 10 last year. Nine players collected a hit in the finale against the Crusaders, including five with multiple hits. The Tigers were 12-for-13 in stolen bases, marking the third-highest total in the league for Opening Weekend. Twelve position players made a start and 13 saw action on the weekend, including seven making their Auburn debuts.

🔼 Batters Up … Again. Continuing its busy season-opening stretch, No. 25 Auburn (2-1) hosts a pair of midweek games against No. 24 Troy (3-0) and North Alabama (2-1) today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) at Plainsman Park. First pitches are set for 6 p.m. CT and 4 p.m., respectively.
Both games will be broadcast on the Auburn Sports Network and can be heard locally on Wings 94.3 FM Tuesday and ESPN 106.7 Wednesday. The games will also be streamed digitally on SEC Network+.
