Good Morning, Auburn Family. Historic home runs for Rose Roach and Ma’Nia Womack and a gutsy performance by the pitching staff carried Auburn softball to a 6-3 win over Clemson Thursday to open action at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational.

Roach, a senior, connected for the first home run of her collegiate career while Womack added her first blast as a Tiger to help Auburn earn the win to improve to 6-0 to start the season.

🔼 Let’s Play Three. Auburn baseball starts off the 2025 season at a newly-renovated Plainsman Park by playing host to Holy Cross for a three-game series starting Friday.

First pitches this weekend are set for today and tomorrow at 6 p.m. CT and Sunday at 1 p.m.

🔼 Preview On The Plains. Auburn soccer and head coach James Armstrong has announced the team’s slate of six spring friendlies.

The schedule consists of six matches over five dates — two at home and four on the road. Auburn’s opponents includes Clemson, Columbus State, Mercer, Ole Miss, South Alabama and UAB, a group that accounted for 61 wins during the 2024 season. Columbus State made the deepest postseason push, earning an NCAA Division II Final Four appearance.

🔼 Legend On the Links. Former Auburn golfer Jason Dufner will join an exclusive roster that includes Bo Jackson, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays and Jesse Owens when he’s inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 May 3 in Birmingham. 

“Alabama has an extensive and accomplished group of athletes who have come through this state…” Dufner said. “To be regarded as someone who accomplished to that level, it’s quite an honor.”

🔼 A Valentine’s Meet-Cute. The No. 12 Auburn gymnastics team heads to Gainesville for a Valentine's Day matchup, taking on No. 3 Florida at Exactech Arena tonight at 7:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network.

Tonight's meet starts a stretch of road meets for the Tigers, as three of the next four competitions will be away from the Plains and all within Southeastern Conference play.

🔼 Tigers Track Tuneup. The Auburn track & field team will split duties between the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina, and the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts today and tomorrow. The Tigers are looking to get one last tuneup before the postseason in two weeks.  

Action from the Clemson University Indoor Complex will begin today at 10 am CT in the men’s weight throw, while action from the Boston University Track and Tennis Center begins Friday at 1:20 p.m. CT with the men’s mile.   

🔼 Gaston Had the Goods, But Not Enough. Auburn’s DeYona Gaston picked up her sixth double-double of the season, but No. 15 Tennessee’s depth was too much as the Tigers fell 99-61 Thursday night. Gaston finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead all scorers in the game. It was the 13th time this year for Gaston to top the 20-point mark.

Auburn plays one of its two remaining home games Sunday, Feb. 16, as the Vanderbilt Commodores visit Neville Arena. Game time is 3 p.m. CT; it’s the annual College Vault Throwback Game with a retro theme and a bucket hat giveaway for students.
